Yeah, usually we would have had a couple buckets sitting in the tub ready for the power to go out - but the power didn't actually go out until the storm had pretty much passed by - we thought it was over! Mom had already gone to bed, so it was just me and my 17-year-old sister, and I was too worried about the youngest ducklings without their heat-lamp, and that dumb Shepherd down in the basement barking because he's scared of the dark, and the tarps blowing off of the new duck pen that I was
planning on water-sealing today to think about too much else!
We didn't run any water at all, but when I got up this morning and I tried to get the ducklings some water, I turned on the sink and nothing came out! Talked to the neighbors, and they had no idea that the water stops pumping when the power goes out! They were also upset that their automatic garage door opener wasn't working.
My silly 17-year-old sister actually called into work this morning and stayed home because she couldn't shower.
Took the runt kitten back to to the shelter today for some more fluids. He looks perkier.
Anyways, off to Home Depo. I have the pen drying in in the sun right now - even if I don't get the plywood on today, I want to at least get it cut and ready to go. Only three more days until I drive down to get the new Call ducks!
