Well gee DrH--didja ever think that your roo was just imitating YOU??? Maybe you'd better just let him listen to Donny's guy!

I hope L is feeling better and you can have a late afternoon boat ride at least...Good luck on your semester end stuff Becky...do you have exams than too? Been a LOOOng time since I was in college and I cant say that I miss it too much. Although touring and staying in Madison for that weekend with DD was pretty fun! I have to admit that I am a bit jealous of her...I never got to stay on campus...city bus back and forth to home!
DH wants to go over and pick up the other load of hay...

cant I even have a few cups of coffee? I am still feeling tired after 11 hours of sleep!!! All this canning must be getting to me; it's that or the heat! Thank Goodness this week should be a bit cooler! Almost ready to get AC in self defense!

My finches are looking like they are going to nest again. Getting very territorial in their flight cage. The button doesnt know quite what is going on and looks confused! They are so fun to watch. With their new location they sit on the branches and spread their wings in the sun just like the chickens to for the vitamin D. Does anyone know if they can get vit D thru a window? The parrots are grooming each other...they are molting like crazy and there are feathers everywhere! I had forgotten how very messy they are.

Well, I guess I can procrastinate no longer...have a great day! Terri O

Congrats on the new baby-hope all went well for both mom and little one

nice day so far A/C is off and windows are open-can hear Mort crowing up a storm! Working on getting the brooder cleaned up and ready for hatch day! Also doing some clean up in the yard-DH is working on the garage repair job-they had to remove the roof and one side of it to fix it right-so it doesn't feel like Sunday to us.

back to the outside.

L took it easy and I did my mountain of dishes again. We're both taking it easy today. BCC Would really like your recipe. Right now we have enough in the freezer for L's salsa and my chili and enough drying along with the cayene for hot pepper flakes. Always need more recipe's ya know!TO maybe your right I didn't realize I sounded like that!

Good afternoon everybody. Been a little busy, had a BABY yesterday!
big_smile.png
Logan Lee, 5lb 10oz, 19 inches, and 2 1/2 weeks early. He caught us a little by surprise. Woke up 6:30 Sat morning and water had broke, spent the next few hours trying to find all the baby gear packed away and get the house ready. He was born at home at 4:07pm. My family is here right now, and my mom is staying for a week to take care of us. DH's mom and stepdad are also here, they were coming for the weekend anyway, but got the perk of seeing the new grandbaby

I'll try to catch up on all the posts later, but the way we Cheeseheads talk, I don't think I have a prayer! Hope you all are having a great weekend, nice to have the hot weather break now too, just what we all needed. Ahhhh.

Sorted through what was left in the duck nest last night - the duck smashed a couple of them (only the one with a duckling - the rest must have been duds), and the eggs were all glued together, but while I was candling them all I found 3 eggs still kicking, due to hatch in 5 days or so. I cleaned them up as best I could and put them in the 'bator, so we'll see.

The geese scared me half to death this morning - I went in the shed that they're living in to let them out for the day, and one of them was curled up in the corner, not moving (they usually start honking and hissing at me as soon as they see me). Apparently, he was just playing dead, hoping I wouldn't notice he was there, because the second I picked him up (to see if he was okay) he threw a fit and gave me a good bruise on my arm - right next to the bite from yesterday.

Still love them though!

beckyschicks - IF those eggs hatch, they should be about 50% Blue Mottled, 25% Black Mottled, and 25% Splash. I'm only looking to keep any Black Mottled or Splash chicks, I don't need anymore Blues right now, so you can have those!

It's WAY too early though - I don't even know if the eggs are fertile. I hope they are! I really want a Splash roo, and it would be nice if I could get one out yet this year so he'd be pretty much grown up by next spring!

You know I will pick up any babies Annarie that you dont want and GEE--guess I could take a ride out to Amyable's place and pick up another one. MY GOD he is adorable! I WANT ONE!!!! Now THAT would be a miracle!

(great name BTW) My daughters both say that the are NOT having children...what on Earth is wrong with them? I need to lock them into the coop with the broody hens I guess! Nothing much going on here except a bunch of canning of tomato soup. I am trying banana jam tonight too...lots of PB&J lovers here...Later! TErri O

Whew! Congrats Amy! And, hi guys

Just wanted to write a quick one. Back from door county alive, it's a miracle. My BFF drives like a psycho. Gotta lot to do, cause we are leaving tomorrow afternoon for a 7 hour drive to UP michigan! So, going and "cleaning" my house again (I'm a bit of a neat freak) just to be sure it's going to sparkly when I get home. Gotta pack too.

DH just left to pick up my midget, I miss him so much! I can't wait to hug the snot out of him!

Oh, and ducks are okay too.

Ciao!
