My pullet's sibling whom I brought with her to keep her company at the tender age of 3? months.. maybe 4 is now trying to crow.. micro crows!!
TOOO TOO funny!!!

In other news.. my surgeon is stumped about my arm, but had me go get some blood work.. and Ta Daaa its abnormal.. which means either an infection in my shoulder...
An allergy to titanium.. (Not unheard of) and a side affect of that. is MUSCLE PAIN.. (ding ding) got that in spades!!!
OR both?! gods I hope not.

SO who wants some very very cute bantam MUTT roosters? I got two, one may turn out to be a silver lace colored- buff brahma/frizzle cochin cross (he has leg feathering) and the
other is probably a normal sized WCBP/black sex link (he has clean legs but a tuft of feathers on his head) too cute!!

Hey everybody!!!

Sorry its been so long, this pregnancy is kicking my butt. My morning sickness has gotten better, but it's still worse than the first one! lol. I have so many weird things that didn't happen with my first pregnancy. I have an increased sense of smell, therefore DH has been feeding, watering and raking the ducks. It was awhile before I could even look at them through the window without feeling ill! My baby from Terri O grew into a very handsome duck! He/she is black and white pied. Cuuuute! I haven't cooked in a LONG time because I can't stand the smell of things cooking. Another symptom is the fatique. Sure, I was tired with my first pregnancy but this is silly. I just manage to get through school, come home take a 2 hour nap, wake up just enough to do homework and go to bed around 8ish. It's hard for me to stay on top of my homework, but i'm managing somehow. Another awesome sign is irritability. Or flat out b****iness.

This is clearly my hubbys favorite. Last preggo all I did was cry, this one all I do is get mad haha! He says if I keep it up he's pitching a tent in the backyard! I answered "So that would mean I get the whole bed?!" lol. He has been amazing though, doing all the cleaning in the house, fetching me water when I want it, rubbing whatever aches, taking care of our toddler, letting me sleep whenever. Great man I married.

In other news, last night DH said he saw two "punk kids" standing at the edge of our driveway, starting to walk up, all dressed in black with their hoods up. DH saw them through the window and one of them saw DH, and they ran up the street, one kept looking back over and over at DH. We have been locking our doors lately! We think they were trying to rob a car, so we also took anything important out of our cars. It was rather early, maybe only 9 or so? Gutsy kids, as DH is usually outside, and DH is very protective over his family. They managed to walk up on the few spare minutes DH wasn't outside, which I thought was odd. I went and talked to our neighbors to let them know, which was good as one of them their husband was out of town. We live in an area where locking our doors isn't common and it's not uncommon to leave the garage door open without worry. She said she was going to lock up and put on her motion detector on her driveway. We are looking into getting something like that for our driveway.

I hope everyone is doing good, I didn't get to go back and ready the pages on pages that I missed, sorry! I did skim it a bit, everyones still talking about chickens!

Another beautiful day, wish they would last till spring. We have 9 broilers that are 7 weeks old and a pair of Jungles. Our problem is as our little girls are getting close to the time they will be processed we don't think we will ever get broilers again. It's to hard to see them (go). In spring we will get layers to love and keep a long time.

Evening To Everyone. Busy day here on the hill. Started up at 5 and then off to the woods for a couple hours. Back home clean the coop, feed and water everyone....then I painted the south end of my older coop....the aisian beetles chased me away. I at least got the worst side of the building painted. Raked a few feed bags stuffed with dry grass....finish that tomorrow. Then down to camp and changed the oil and filter in the lawn tractor, pulled the splitter to the pile and split for a hour or so.
fm, my javas layed their first eggs today too! They will be 23 weeks tomorrow. I finished the nest boxes in the nick of time. I had golf balls in the nests, and they worked like a charm. 2 out of 4 is a great start!

Doc, in regards to the dill, we had prolly 25 plants that came up late after we pulled all the onions. It was where we had the dill last year. It is prime right now, and that is perfect timing for the brussel sprouts that need a head of dill in every jar...sometimes things work out just right. I have alot of seeds, so I'll send you guys plenty.

Have a great Friday and week end. The weather is gonna be summer like.... ~ bigzio

Good Morning All! Bigz the dill will be great appreciated and put to good use! First planting will be as early as possible. farmersforlund had someone else raise my eatin chickens this year as we don't have the room yet to do both. The only thing I don't like about the situation is that he doesn't free range them. Raiquee sorry to hear your having a tough time of it, hopefully it will improve! Sounds like you do have a good man by your side. I'm thinking he was going to put up the tent for you.

fm forgot to mention one of the things that made the cut to the small fridge was your straw/rhubarb jam sadly one of the things that didn't make into the remaining freezer were the black raspberries. So now don't know what I'll be able to get you for xmas. Maybe a loaf of cinn/raisin bread. Looking forward to making bread again store bought sucks! We ate out a couple of times while being refugees man the resturant food is salty! Enjoy the warmest day we'll probably see till next year.

Good Morning-looks to be a beautiful weekend. Kids are off today for teacher conferances- all 3 had good ones! Paperwork today till it's finished and then maybe get some time to work on the coop. DH is off to work this am but might finish early

Off to get chores done-several pens need to be clean-was hoping to have moved all the birds to the new coop, this weekend for sure.

Enjoy the day!

Early Friday Evenig All....pulled the last planting of spinach today. The fall crop is always nice. Suzie made a dish with tortillia shells, salsa, spinach, and a ton of cheese, with venzun burger of course, that is awful tasty. Top the finish with some olives and it is heaven.
My neighbor has a nice flock of layers. Amazing how many folks are raising chickens. It'sa good thing for sure! He is priced right with pullet eggs fo 50 cent a dozen, and nice eggs for 1.50 per dozen. Folks need to take a short drive in the country for eggs that stand tall in the pan.
Make er a good one eh!... ~ bigzio

Dr.haha sorry to hear of your flooding problems. I am a carpenter by trade with some flood experience . I also used celulose insulation in my home and it had a water based adhesive in it to keep it from settling in your walls or else it would all compress to about half its height. If you don't cut your drywall off up to atleast the waterline you are asking for some huge problems....mold,mildew,rot. You have to get that wet stuff out and let it dry out completely before you reinsulate and rock it. I would also wipe it down with bleach to make sure to kill any bacteria.
Sorry if I have overstepped my bounds ..... just trying to help
