Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good Morning Everyone! H&R good luck with your houseful of kids. cd sounds like you had a good time with your helper it's important to instill those things in her at a young age. Think you'll find the she'll stray when she discovers boys but will return to her true love. You and outdoors. I have so many precious memories of trips afield with my youngest and so does she. Geez TO when it rains it pours! [It killed me to say that.] Hope you can get things turned around! fm that was a good one! Glad your back! Missed ya! Oh Raiguee that's just terrible having a housefull of flu. Hope everyone recovers quickly! Have a long list today but think I'll be able to scratch most of it off. Bigzio, cd, H&R DH and to all heading into the woods tomorrow hope you all kill a big buck in the woods and most importantly return home safe!

Hey all!

Our baby chicks turned into 12 roosters!

We are in immediate need to cull our flock.

Does anyone have any chicken processing equipment we might be able to borrow or rent?

We live in Houlton, WI just north of Hudson on the western side of the state.

Thanks!!

Annie

glad you stopped by the cheeseheads. Maybe someone can help you out. I cull extra birds with things we have here. A porcelain canner works fine for scalding. Simply heat on the stove and carry outside for dunking. Hand plucking isn't bad with help. Some sharp knives and you will be done before you know it.

Thanks for the good luck wish Doc. Sure wish I can bag one in the mornin. Talked to Jim, and his wife Annie got a nubbie with the car. He is grinding venzun today for chili and cowboy beans.
I'll be sleepin with one open for sure, in anticipation of the one with horns sneaking my way!
Have a great week end..... Make it a Safe One... ~ bigzio

Hey everyone,

So it seems all my favorite chicks are turning out to be roosters. So if anyone is looking for any new roosters you can have them for free and I'm willing to meet if needed. I have 1 Buff Orpington that came from a local breeder and she has won shows with her birds. Also I have 2 Easter Egger Roos, and a Buff Brahma Roo. I really want these guys to find good homes because they are really friendly. I can't have them crowing i my basement because my neighbors might hear and call the police, and I don't have the stomach to butcher them. Please let me know if anyone can take them. Thanks everyone!

Having Thanksgiving early at the in-laws Sunday, so Dr. H I have a batch and a half of your crust waiting for me tomorrow to make a pecan and a cherry pie! Planning on getting that Kraut canned tomorrow as well......

Ready to face the traffic tomorrow at 5; I am hoping I am going in the opposite direction of everyone else.....

Good morning everyone! I suppose that there is not internet connections in tree stands....no free WIFI in the woods

Oh, sorry...ssshhhh...I hope I wasnt too loud *whispering now*...It seems like I havent been able to post for a really long time! Prolly just a day or two in reality! The dogs are fine...I am wondering if the beagle got rid of the poison on her own when I let her outside. I am continuing to give them their vit K and they will have a blood test in a week or so.
I got my new QUAIL! I met the lady last night in Columbus. (thanks for your efforts WiChCh!) They are pretty rough looking compared to my Button...I call the female Pink because she has been "snatched bald headed" by the boy! I mean she has NO feathers except on her underbody! He is a lavender color and I havent thought up a name for him yet. I just hope that they're not sick!
Gorgeous looking day today for the opener...havent heard any shots around here. We usually have to keep one of our dogs locked up cause she is terrified of the noise. Good ludk to you all and if you get too much...well ya'll can drop one off here! We never get any unless we hit it with the truck too...and that is all gone by now

My friend found some excellent hay on the board at TSC and we went to check it out last night. It is very nice for $1.50 a bale...pure alfalfa. I am going to get it today--guess I better get moving and get it--time's a wastein'!
Have a fantastic day! Terri O

I hear lots of shots out there! TO too funny on the free WIFI LOL. I had to chase our duck back to our side of the state HWY!! again. HELLO duck do you not know that those cars/trucks/semis are doing 55+ probably 60+ in this streatch of road! I lured them into the run and LOCKED them in dumbies!

We've heard a few shots earlier this am don't know if anything was gotten, haven't heard from DH as of yet but that doesn't mean anything-phone signal up there isn't the greatest and you don't want the noise giving away that you are sitting there.

My DD had 3 girls over for her b-day sleepover and the kids probably fell asleep around 1:30 am and were up by 7:30 am, I don't sleep well at night anywhy when DH is gone from the house-probably because I am listening even more just in case.

Good Afternoon all! Boy did I screw up! Got all the splitting and outside stuff done around noon. Now going to have to help with house cleaning.

Don't mind a bit. Haven't heard any close shots and only 2 a fur piece from here. Hope all the hunters get some meat for the freezer! raimnel Bad Naughty Duck! Bad Naughty! TO forgot what kind of quail you were getting? And I take it as a pair think his name ought to be King, poor baby girl! It's good to be da king. Maybe a couple of more females to give Pink a break. Ya that's it more animals.

Even took the time to pick up almost all the kids today. Boy those Wyandottes are soft and gentle. Buster is so cool! I swear that he almost gets so relaxed that he just about goes asleep in my arms. I stroke him and talk to him and his head starts to list towards my chest, think there might be something to the idea that it's all in their upbringing. Spoiled Brats! Peatwo and Btwo are the same way. I just love holding them and seeing how they react to the attention. Not a one doesn't like it. Chickens are so cool! fm Buster reminds me so much of Peaches he has to have the first and last word of the day and hates anything large like rugs or even a 5 gal. pail. He's such a good boy! Better go beat the rugs
