Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good Morning Everyone! BCC sounds like the the day I had the day before. Nothing went right. Told you all my trick with putting bread on the stove top burner on low to rise well it wasn't so I turned it up a tad. It started to rise and when it was ready flopped it out of the bowl only to discover that the bottom was already crusty. I was tired and it really made me mad. It went to the chickens. Could have probably saved most of it but I was MAD!

Raiquee Congrats to DH on the deer! Have to say that I don't like the idea of leaving the guts in it. But maybe that's just me. Sounds like your very busy with clinicals and school keep up the good work. Make us proud! After pies then out to drag and buck up the trees I dropped the other day. Hope you all have a wonderfull feast and enjoy your company tomorrow!

I agree, yesterday was either really Monday or Friday the 13th! It seemed NOTHING was going right at work...... It was nice to get home at 8:30........ and crawl into bed.

Thanks Dr. H for the well wishes. My brother and his family are leaving this morning so they can beat the snow and ice here so no worries there. I am hoping the snow holds off until I get out of Oshkosh!

Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Stay safe, don't burn down the garage trying to deep fry your turkey, and by all means eat a lot of pie!

Good morning everyone! Looks like some hunting success is ours on this board. For those of you still waiting; there is more time. I think they probably taste just as good (maybe even better) if they are obtained after opening day...

I got so much work done yesterday--prolly 'cause I stayed away from the computer! Sure can be a BIG time sucker. So I am waiting for my pumpkin to defrost. Took it out yesterday and it is still partially frozen! I have to shop for some cream; I think that is all I need. I was going to use the cream from the Jersey milk I have been getting but my supply has dried up!

No not really, the woman that milks her has gotten it into her head that the cow doesnt like it and that is why she is fidgeting. I said just to give her a slap and tell her to cut it out. She thinks she can talk the cow into standing still....

(kinda like her 2 year old I guess)

So I guess I use store bought cream for my pies. I wanted them to be all home grown this year....
I have a mystery at my house! There was a pan of banana cake that was kinda dry so it was waiting to go to the chickens this morning. There was half a piece on the counter this morning but no pan! I looked all over the house and the pan is GONE! It is my best glass one too. Now where in the world could a beagle hide a 13x9 glass pan? Which, I am sure, is licked clean! It is making me crazy...I wanted to make some cereal bars today to take along tomorrow for the kids...I will have to keep an eagle eye out I guess...I need another cup of coffee!
OHHH my legs are stiff and sore today! All that climbing and stapling yesterday...I think the IB will be my friend today! I sure hope it warms up just a little...my hoses are frozen and I really dont care to haul water in 5 gal buckets for an hour today! I knew I shoulda pulled them down in the well pit the other day! THink I should just stop at the hardware store and buy some new ones....hmmm--not a bad idea me thinks. Maybe the one that goes to the garden is OK---say a prayer for me!
I better get moving--so much to do today...glad I checked the propane tank last week-sitting at a comfortable 35%; plenty to bake pies...yup, one year I did run out...thank God for neighbors!
Have a blessed Thanksgiving everyone! Terri O

Good Evening to Everyone... Thanks for the kind words Doc, yep a very busy time here. We have 3 done and just one to go. It's skinned and halved due to the cold weather. The sawzall works great for that when the time arrises. Moved it down to the garage attached to the house, gonna finish that one tomorrow.
My son was hunting on public land today and came across a ten pointer that was shot in the neck just behind head...still fresh and no other hunters around...his hunting friend tagged it and kept it from going to waste. One needs to always follow up their shot for as far as it takes to make sure!
Terri...good luck hunting for the pie plate...

We always have something to be thankful for even if it's been a tough year. Fun news for us, our rooster (Fred) is starting to crow and it's sooooooo cute.

Everyone must be busy cooking! Happy Thanksgiving! May you all be surrounded with family and friends and "good people" for the whole day. Take a walk after dinner and then maybe a nap! Have a great one--drive safe! Terri O

I'm having a freaking out Thanksgiving guys!!! We ordered it from Sendik's as most of the family was in Mexico until late last night and I was in clinicals. So, they offered to order out to make it "easy" on me. Well thats not really the case!! We got like...3lbs of mashed potatoes and the same in stuffing. Thats not enough for 12 people!!! So I am rushing to make second batches of everything!! I threw in the GUMP bread from this thread as they gave us 8 tiny cresents. Talk about a bummer!! I am making cheesy potatoes, mashed potatoes, another thing of stuffing, baked yams, bread. I may have just made the whole thing!! The turkey is like...half cooked, we still have to roast it for 2 to 4 hours!! Yikes!!!!

We know for next year. My in-laws feel bad, but I told them "Hey you were just trying to help out, and how were you to know?" So, I still get to cook Thanksgiving. Although stressful, It's something I just love doing.

I hope everyone has a great and happy thanksgiving, keep you family close
