Feeling somewhat better this am, but still moving like molasses. Fever is only 101, though, that's a push in the right direction.

Tyler (8 months) is coughing this am and getting stuffed up, but is still a happy little guy so far. Watching him crab walk across the floor as I type, he says the floor is cold on the knees. LOL He's all about walking right now, cruising around on his walker, squealing when he gets "stuck" (we haven't figured out how to turn the walker, yet).

Dad and big brother were also showing low grade fevers last night and are sleeping in this am.

Bundling up to go do chores, then back in for a hot bowl of soup and my comforter in the recliner. Good damp morning to everyone.

Good morning to all! Nice to "see" you again MLH(Must love hens) and welcome to our little corner....well, I have the cold too! No fever or anything yet, just stuffy and body aches. SweetF my husband used to get seizures if he had a high fever...he either doesnt get them any more or hasnt had a high enough one--thank God! I hated that. Poor quail baby....
Candled the eggs last night ans saved the ones that were obviously dark and all the buttons (I was too nervous to pick them up!) I tossed 13 clear or little development; just put the right outside for the night so IF there was anything alive it isnt now! All the turkey eggs were clear except for 1. I sure wonder how that happens with 4 toms and 1 hen? I guess she is very particular?

BL4--that party does sound weird! I asked my DH and he said he thought it wasnt weird at all that the co-workers wanted to throw a party for him(and bring diapers for the baby) I think it's weird though....makes me think they are going to diaper him!...or maybe he can practice diapering others?

Odd anyhow...and I am bettign ther WILL be beer! That is one think about work parties--alcohol seems to always be involved!
DrH--sure hope you dont get any flooding before Thursday! Or even AFTER THursday for that matter. We have warnings here too. THe river was just about 3 feet past the tree trunks on the way through yesterday...DH says still 7' under what we had 3 years ago! Now just WHERE DOES all that water come from? Seven feet is a whole bunch of water for sure.
H&R--give E a hug from me...she must be so miserable!
I can give them to Terri for her rooster.

Now Carol--I can take this one of two ways....you either want poor Abe to have more girls of his own kind to play with or you want to trade the chicks FOR Abe! With you I imagine it is the latter!

All new poultry is doing fine today, I am happy to report! The Wellie chicks seem to be bullying the bantams so I will have to keep a watch on that. But other than that all is good. THe cats did not bother the chicks in the brooder tank at all--I kind of tried to sleep lightly so I could hear....just checked the bator again...no rocking yet...100* and 75% humidity....I hope all goes well! ANy activity by you ODrH? (feel better soon!)
Talk to you all later! Terri O

Nothing yet, but they aren't due yet for a few days. Temps steady at 99.5, Humidity 60%, eggies out of the rocker.

I brought in a playmate for the wheaten pullet, so she's very happy. The black silkie, however, is NOT happy at the moment after her taste of freedom in the "big cage". She want's to know who this funny looking strange chicken is and where her other silkie siblings went! LOL, she's settling in and I think they'll be buds.

Blegh, nothing like a good freezing sleet fest to knock everyone for a loop. Going to curl up in the recliner.

I agree with Hurley!! I am going to curl up on my recliner and watch something dull...
I had to box in the big white cochin so the others can have some peace and quiet!!

Terri.. I don't want Abe.. I just think you should have more Favorelles!! LOL
Hey there is someone in your area (or you) selling guinea's, muscovies, and chickens... but they are also selling hay.. so maybe not you.. LOL
they are on the CL.

I don't need anymore chicks, but thought if the lady does order Favorelles.. you should have them!!!

cough cough.. bleh!!
So Terri are you available tomorrow?

gold neck booted, this is the set that I accidentally left on the top of the incubator for 12 hours on day 18, the room was 50 degrees, they are the liveliest bunch I have right now.
