8 roosters, 11 months old (give or take a week). They're not culls, I just have way too many roos.

3 Blue Cochin roos, full size (large, chunky, heavy), correct feathering/colors. Decently friendly
2 Dark Cornish, good sized. broad chested. (NOT real friendly...but excellent field alarms)
1 Cuckoo Marans, BIG boy. From a decently dark, x-large egg
1 Buckeye. Peacomb, good mahogany color, slate underneath.
1 Black copper Marans. too much red on his chest, and lost part of his comb this winter to frostbite. (he's from a super dark X-Large egg)

These guys are NOT hatchery birds..we hatched them from eggs purchased from 4-H show stock and a show breeder. Free ranged on good pasture. cracked grains from feedmill over winter. Currently in Dodgeville area, can be delivered around there, or brought to Madison area.

There is an animal swap in Freeport this saturday.. Anyone going?
Stay dry and safe out there folks

) I hate when that kind of stuff happens. I will be in your boat come Saturday...and then we are gone all day on Sunday! I hope they hatch a little early.
THe roads on the way back from my dog walk were horrible! All ice balls and slippery as He!! A lady came into the kitchen to tell me about a pile up she heard about on her scanner on I94 near me.

for DH driving home from Chicago today! I say, "stay home people if you possible can!"
The humidity is inching up in my bator along with the temp. Tomorrow I will add water and close 'er up again. I am hoping to have a bit better luck this time!

I went to the library today and the librarian told me that they got the 2010 SOP in for me! So she gets it off the shelf and said how disappointed they are with it. The one they got is a copy (like an actual copy machine copy) of the 1910 version and it has an explanation in it how they feel it is a book worth preserving. THe from cover is new and is larger that the size of the original pages. So my question to you that have the "new" SOP...is yours like this? She wants me to find the publisher's name and the ISBN number for the right SOP and then they will order a copy for our library. Can anyone help?

My DD25 just got home from work...talk to you all later! Terri O

I know it's to be expected to have losses but... Another is out running around like a dumb cluck still 3 more zipping. I hope someone brings an SOP to the Bash I'd like to puruse it! Should just buy one. Cheap so and so. I wonder if I'll have to carry Brownie to the coop tonight she usually waits at the back door for me when it snows. Looks like 4-5" out there heavy and wet! Good thing it won't be around long! Be safe out there good people! I could go to bed right now

I'm glad I took the time to remove my turkey tent this morning, or the weight of this snow would have it smashed down for sure. Sorry about Beeker Doc, hope some make it through for you. I'll glady bring my SOP to the bash...no problem. I actually have 2 copys. I plan on donating one to the local library here for the 4-H kids or who ever needs to reference it. Mine also came from the APA.

They have a special now through June for folks that sign up for 3 years at $50. They receive a free hardback copy of Living with Chickens by Jay Rossier. It's a 24.95 value.

Out to check for eggs one last time today. I have to put those heavy winter boots on again. Weather man said this snow fall will be in the top 5 for april in history. What the heck!
