Happy Easter Everyone!

Dave, little bianca is sooo cute!

Hurley, that's quite the brooder. Thinking it would've been done a lot sooner if those chicks didn't need so much watching!

MLH, great now another breed I have to look up... I gotta quit looking at chickens, DH is getting frightened of what I'm getting into!

Sounds like everyone hatches have been going well, so glad!

So.. DH was giving me a much deserved foot rub the other night and he asked me why my feet don't age.. ummm... guess I never noticed. Then he told me I have pretty feet. Later he says... Oh you're birthday is coming up, how old will you be? 53? I said no, 54. He said, well that's okay at least you have young looking feet! Great, the ONE part of my body that seems to resist aging and they are seldom seen! LOL But around here compliments are few and far between,I've learned to take what I can get!

Happy Easter To All.... Up at 4am today so it's been a long day so far. Bfast went well and we served 188 hungry folks. I brought 2 five gallon pails of egg shells home....we rinsed them good and dried them on two picnic tables. Then I crushed by hand into a clean litter box. I'll mix them with the oyster shells. How's that for being frugle!
Nice job with the hutch ODH....nice pics too!
Way to go fm! Glad you stopped by.
No turkey for Rick this Spring. Maybe he will have better luck in the Fall

Good luck with the new plucker Jim. Keep us posted how it works. Might be doing cockerals at your house from now on.

well, we did only 6 roosters today.. seems Annie made a deal with somebody to "borrow" the rest of them for the summer for slug control at their place.. Ducks would work better for that, but I do not have any spare ducks, so I will keep my mouth shut..

the plucker did not work for the first two roosters.. I could not find my thermometer, so we decided the water was too hot.. I cut the heat off and the plucking went better and better as the water cooled..

Brian was here to pick up his chicks, so he sat and drank beer while I played with my new toy.. He was impressed with the last 4 roosters.. so was I..

Brian brought me 3 dozen americauna eggs to hatch for myself with a promise of more if I want them.. He has enough chickens, he said..

speaking of hatching, the first Java is out already..

Happy Easter to all !
Hurley you sure do a great job. Building brooders, filling baskets and sending us fun pics to enjoy

Our Children and Grandchildren came over today and the chicks had lot of attention. The men and boys also found the last of the snow and had a snowball fight. Sure was a beautiful day. I was happy for that cause our small house burst at the seams if all of us are stuck indoors. Here are a few pics of our day.

my GS9 was on the receiving end of those snowballs. He's fast and hardly ever got hit.

I love it when they all come over and I'm happy to put my feet up when it's all cleaned up and it's just DH and I. Whew !

Happy late Easter everyone! We just got back a littel while ago from Appleton. Had to take the round-about way through Madison! We dropped off dd19 her her BF at school. Thank goodness DH is working in Milwaukee tomorrow so we didnt have to go there too to drop of DS22...that would be quite a long drive around the state for sure. Dinner was good; my brother kept bringing out stuff...more and more stuff! Glad to say that he was very careful and I feel OK so I must not have had any accidental gluten---

Nice pics ODrH! That was so cute in the basket...I liked the looks of that Lindt chocolate bunny! I hope that was yours or your Hubby's...way too good to "waste" on little undeveloped taste buds!

Congrats of ducks hatching FM! I am sure mine will be any day now...that and the geese. I have a BUNCH of nesting ones outside. I though one of my little calls had disappeared today while we were gone...found her on the nest they have been working on! They have 7 eggs...wonder if that is a clutch for calls? Anyone know? My muskovys seem to first sit when they have 15 or so...maybe 20!
Well, lost ANOTHER guinea hen today! That is the third one I lost due to cars this year...always in the same area of the road too. I dont know if they are going across to a nest or what. I have 7 left. I lost a purple, a pied and now a white. I wonder what the ratio is now?
Well, I need to head off to bed...riding in the car makes me really tired! Sleep tight everyone...dream of bunnies and chickies. Terri O
