Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

As long as I have a cold one I'll listen Bigz! But be prepared for several interuptions of my own experiences. I'm terrible that way cause it's all about me ya know. Got a giggle out of the egg carton offer. Good neighbor Donny dropped by yesterday cause his wife was looking for 16 packs. I had some mixed in with a full black garbage bag of 12's told him it was a package deal

Still have 2 more garbage bags upstairs. High hopes I guess. Our garden is tilled!!!! Had to do some more referbishing on the 1960 something tiller. The list is long on that one but it's a keeper. Going to get plants tomorrow

think I'm not charging enough to those that I do charge for eggs. Got hopefully enough wood cut and brought in to get us thru till air conditioner weather. Late snack/lunch then a nap.

Good afternoon! $10/doz for duck eggs??? Man, I have 5 doz in my frige hoping that someone will stop by that cant do without them! I usually just give them away...maybe I need to change my plans for Saturday morning and get my butt to Madison? DH has been saying that for a while but...can anyone point me to a place that I can find the regulations? Not that I would follow them...when I went to the square on Farm day for Lake Mills they told me that under no circumstances can I sell live animals in the park...LOL--I left them in the back of the truck and was the busiest stall in the place!

Sooo--who needs rabbits or kittens? I have two neighbors that have some and are trying to find homes. THe kittens are out of a tortie Mom (4) and the rabbits are large meat type but not all the same color. THese are from the same guy of the ones I brought to the bash. Kittens are free, bunnies $3 I believe.

Are any one's geese hatching yet? I though for sure I would have some by now....I have one nest of ducks hatched but NO geese yet...what's up with that?

House sitting is going good....except I unloaded the DW this morning and a ceramic pot lid slipped in my fingers and chipped

I eill offer to get her a new one if she gives me the old one...Of course it is Pampered Chef so $$$$!

When I was home yesterday I nearly finished my little coop! I got the roof on and the angles all cut and it went together pretty well! So all I have to do now is crawl in there and staple the screen venting onto the roof and it will be DONE! Well, I do have to paint it. And make a run of sorts...speaking of--I think I will go out and work on it for a bit...and get my onion sets in!

Have a great afternoon! Terri O

I asked $4 a dozen for my duck eggs, but am thinking I need to hike it up!! The demand is crazy, people asking me for 6 dozen at a time! *slaps her scovies* get to work girls, no more free-loadin'!

Sent Damien to Chuck E Cheese with grandpa, and I'm on a cleaning spree. Took a break cause, although I like to think my energy is back, it's not 100% yet!! I am about to clean the carpet tho. Kids are so dang messy! One with food, the other one...well let's just say he pooped on my carpet!!

I'm thinking of sticking him in with the ducks!!

I am also super happy about my canner. DH loves me.

Now I get to can that huge list of things I posted! And when he is eating canned chili and soup that I made, he will remember how much I love him

Hatching is going well, though maybe got a bit carried away with setting the eggs. Got lots of chicks with alot more still to go. So looking to sell some. Got some good quality blue/black standard ameraucanas, standard blue/black/splash cochins, and Cayuga ducks at the moment. Bobwhite quail are really getting going on laying already, so probably have a bunch of them in the next couple of weeks.

HI all

and here we're sitting with all these duck eggs thinking noone wants them and we could be selling them for megas???? man I think I will post them on CL. lol later

wen to the feed mill this a.m. and on the way seen mega rumage sales. stopped at a couple on the way home. found a little bike for my DD (3) and a bed room set for her too. drawers need alittle fixing, I add that to DH's to do list. my to do list was very long today and all I got done was the running to the feed mill part the rest of the day has been spent cleaning and moving the bedroom set in.

Nice looking coop there otonoh!

Well I survived helping my friend at her rummage sale in Waunakee... according to the booklet there were almost 600 houses that had sales. Sold lots of my kids stuff and found a few steals myself. Windburn and sunburn to prove I was there!

Terry O... I think you had said that you integrate new birds during the day with lots of treats. If you see fighting when introducing... what do you do? Push them away, pull someone out for a time out??? Just checking. Going to be adding our 12 week olds soon and Carol is kind enough to swap my mean little white rock hen Thor for her lovely Orp Willow. Thor insists that my kids and I cant hold her... she gives us big brown eggs daily, but she also picked on the little silkie girl. So we are doing a big bird chaos change, hopefully on Friday if it is not too rainy.

Looks like a lovely mothers day tomorrow. Enjoy it everyone!

Well went to the francis farm pony and horse auction, found a few things I needed. My client fell in love with a young colt, I started his bid out at $25... and bid him up to $90. Two other people must
have seen the same qualities my client saw, they got into a bidding war... so he backed down.
A cute palamino filly brought in by the same people went for only $45, and a thin "6" yr old pinto mare for $60....sigh...
Had a headache when I came home... but feel better now.

See you all tomorrow.
Carol

man, go away for a couple of hours and then try to catch up on all the reading..

I moved he americauna eggs into the hatcher just in time.. they started hatching within an hour.. I didn't count yet, but there are a lot of eyes staring back at me..

I moved the 5 and 6 week old chicks to one of the breeding pens this afternoon.. (Sat.) there are 37 of them and a lot of them are barred rocks.. I set up a metal brooder hood and a lamp for heat.. I was just out there and a lot of them are not even using the extra heat.. they are fully feathered, but they have had access to heat up until now..

tomorrow we have to clean out at least one of the sections of the broodr battery for some of the chicks in the chick TV's.. we have to make room for the new arrivals. we have 4 TV's going..the brooders outside are large enough to handle a couple of hundred chicks for a couple of weeks..

I am thinking of selling the trio of jungle fowl..

I am going to sell a couple of Tom turkeys also.. tomorrow we are going to butcher one of the young Toms.. It has a watery eye. so Annie wants to get rid of it.. I told her; only if she uses the feather plucker.. I want to see how it works on a turkey.
we do not need an epidemic..

I have a goose egg dated for the 6th to hatch.. I usually date them for 30 days.,, so I think I have about 4 days to wait, yet..

good morning all, I got woken up to the sound of chickens fighting, went in there and the wyandottes were pushing out their chests and also standing as high as they could. Hmmm
rooo behavior at 3-4 weeks. I have a red heat light on them so not sure what it could be, They are in a bigger brooder than the comets, I separated them when the comets were picking on Bianca.
