Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Well I spent part of the morning going to get the parakeet and "robo- hamster" He is a siberian hamster.. cute but apparently a little bitey... they are evil little things...

I missed a call from my friend and she took our neighbor in for his surgery, they say he is coming home this evening.. I don't believe it...
Anyway, he couldn't get one of the dogs in, she was able to, but she leaves this message for me saying this.. so of course I rush over to help...
And she has the dog in... sigh...
So I decide to get the dining room set up, and also wait for Terri O.. I think she forgot. I will have to text her on my way out.
Got laundry up, got the vacuum unclogged from POUNDS!! of Dog hair..

vacuumed a bit, got the nick knacks out, covered my flowers still in their pots so they don't
fry in this heat.
Fans are going, windows are open and I have to jet, gotta get my trailer unhooked, and then get my niece, run to the pharmacy, drop off a 12/14 foot gate that is sitting IN and ON my truck.
Come home, make dinner, get another load out, get another load IN... and move some more boxes upstairs. LOL

are we having fun yet????

good afternoon, lots going on around here lately..

My friend, Dick, came out tday with his sidekick who was going to help me split my tractor.. they did a lot of talking and suggesting and finally decided to just "try this" and adjusted the take-up nut on the clutch pedal.. ta-daaa !!! we do not have to split the tractor, at this time anyway.. eventually the clutch will wear away, but at least not for awhile..

we doe-si-doed chickens around for a couple of hours .. took the (34) 10 week olds and put them with the guineas.. then we took the (96) month olds and put them where the 10 week olds were.. took 37 turkeys from inside the chick TV and put them with the 38 turkeys in the other outside pen with a brooder hood..

we are letting the guineas out early in the morning , now.. they are mostly staying in the 4 foot high fence.. and they all go in at dark like good little troopers.. In a few more days I will open the gate and let them have-at-it to the whole property.. goodbye woodticks..

added 15 new guineas to the chickTV.. and about 35 americaunas, too..

Just now Annie brought me a hatched duck eggshell.. must have fallen from the high nest above the guinea pen.. it is about a 9 foot drop to the ground, but we put a deep pile of loose hay for them to bounce on if they leave the nest before we can get to them.. that duck had 14 eggs up there.. I wonder how many will hatch ?

no garden in yet..

got my garden cart all finished.. I put (3) 50# sacks of feed in it and Annie had no trouble pushing it around..

apple cider vinegar.. I suppose the stuff with the "mother" in it is prolly best for nutritional value, but I use whatever Annie has in the pantry.. clear, apple, etc.. it all works to keep the slime away.. and I don't know the nutritional value of any of it.. But you will notice a vinegar odor in their poo..

did you notice the change in my avatar? I just noticed it just now.. No more "cooling off" LOL

We just dig them out and as long as some of the tubular part is there is should be good.

The 2 girls are still on the stressed out side of things and it appears that they broke and ate the eggs they laid sometime last night- hopefully this stops. Probably take them a bit to adjust to how we do things

I was just reading up on how to split out irises and I'd live to spread them around. Would be happy to share, assuming I figure it out. Sounds like it shouldn't be too hard.

Actually when you split the iris' they should have some of the bulb and root system too (I don't know what you meant by tubular part).

Well, so glad hubby set up the window ac this morning, and called the co-op and got the actual ac ordered.... should be here by the end of the week and they will install early part or next week, because I keep getting weather text alerts on my phone and there is a heat index advisory for this afternoon - ya think!?!?!?? I am kind of glad my chicks are still in their brooders in the house, and their lamps are off today... because I would be worried about them outside in this heat if they were not!

I am off to shoot a birth tonight (of the human nature). Photography....

I love weddings, but am trying to also break into the birth photography... if anyone is icked out by this, check out Pinkle Toes Photography website... that's the kind of birth photography I am talkin' about! No icky shots, just story telling.

Carol - I hope you get moved soon, this is some weather to be moving in let me tell you, sounds like you are doing quite well though!

Frizzler - any luck on finding anything nearby that killed your chickens?? And how are the new chicks adjusting?

Snow over the mountain is actually very pretty!

Good luck digging that though!

Celtic she is still with us! It's pretty obvious though that she had a head injury, either a passing car, or window. She was so far from the house that I kind of think it was a car. Her head is puffy, and both eyes are swollen shut.

She (and I think she's a she....no blue head feathers) wasn't interested in seed so I pulled out my wildlife rescue guide and luckily there was a section just for mourning doves. I made her a mix of hard boild egg yolk, wheat germ, cornmeal and water that my daughter and I were able to push a little into her beak with a tweezers. She swallowed once we got it in there.

She's still drinking and pooping and can walk around. So we've got our fingers crossed!

Yikes Kinda Warm, Eh! Oh my, nice pics all and thanks for sharing.

Another watermellon has bit the dust here on the hill! I'm not sure who gets a burst of energy more....me or the flock.

Gonnna need some moisture for the gardens here fore long....seeds sittin in dust don't sprout much. i have th row of carrots startin to sprout with the daily water can. I need to have my yearly supply of carrots. no way I'm gonna haul the water this year like I've done in the past. It's a wait to see what happens. We live off the gardens and venzun and chickens.

I could ramble on and on.....
