Hens and Roos Yep I've got the polyvisol vitamins and give them to him. He/she is a bit better. Seems like when you put your hand in there to pick it up it freaks out and that is when it jumps around and gets a bad spell again. Those guineas are the next thing to being prehistoric as far as domestication goes !!!!!! At least mine are, they don't like human contact although my adults will hang outside of the bedroom window and do all of there honking or what ever you call it. Must have learned that from the cats that cry outside the window when they know I'm in the room letting me know they want in the house.
Jvls1942, yep I do that to although not while watching TV. When I feed and water him/her I massage the neck. It does almost seem like it is muscle spasms doesn't it.
Well, won't give up on the little one. It was a good two weeks old or so when this happened so who knows what the cause is.
I have a silkie that has for the most part recovered from the wry neck. Still kind tilts it head weird when it goes into the dive for the food.
Storm woke me up at 5AM. Biggest thunder I've ever heard. Angels must be having a bowling tournament up there hey???? And alot of strikes !!!!
It just scares the bajeebies out of me that the horses will be ok. They have a nice huge shelter that we built but I keep thinking about two people I've met in the past that had their horses struck and killed by lightening !!!
Kinda sounds like the chickens will be all cooped up today !!! Now I know where that expression came from !!! Poor Girls.
We've had on and off again egg slow downs but I'd say more like the egg size is smaller. I think some are moulting now but it has been going on for a while now. Most of my hens are under 2 yrs old.
Sure hope the truck got fixed yesterday. Have to look up the number and give Dave a call. Then make arrangements for the car to go in.
Stacykins I love the yellow and black one !!!!!! Looks like he is going to be a trouble maker. You gotta keep that one for sure !!! What a little ham !!!
Hope you have better luck then I did when I hatched out 36 pure black Ameraucanas. At first I thought I had tons of hens. When I got my first blue egg I was so excited. Thought I was going to be up to my eyeballs with blue eggs. This was the middle of winter when they started laying so Hubby was doing all of the outside chores, collecting etc. So one day I decide to go check on all of my nice beautiful Ameraucana hens !!! To my surprise my hens had turned into Roos !!!! And before I discovered that I had picked up a couple of Blue Amerauucana Roos for all of my hens !!!!!! So now I have my Ameraucana GANG of Roos that patrol the yard !!! Anybody need an Ameraucana Roo ??? or two ???
Well, I'm rattling here so better go.
