Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Beautiful birds Cind...I especially love the cochins. Are they LF? I have three babies but pretty sure two are males and one just hatched so not sure on that one. I BETTER get a girl lol I hope to have a few more hatch (in incubator now) but no more pips yet

They are babies, probably 3 months old now. I am taking the only male out of the clutch because males are more likely to talk. They are actually pretty quiet birds. I think they are the smallest parrot related to the Amazon parrot. I just think they're adorable and I've always wanted one. I'm very excited to find one this young.

Oh WOW! I don't think I have ever seen one that young! Now I want one!

I was thinking they were older. So at this age you can train them YOUR way

If I didn't work full time I KNOW I would take one. Just wish I had more time in a day *Sigh*

Well I actually had a quiet day yesterday, fed horses/chickens, drove hubby to work, watched my niece who decided she didn't want to go to her swim lesson, so I napped for an hour.
We hung out, had lunch, hung out some more...got my check from client. I had gotten some hay from him, he said he would charge me what he gets charged to have it baled...
He then reneged on that...and charged me near going rate for hay... I am NOT happy about that, won't say anything, but won't buy hay from him again...
Then picked up DH, dropped my niece off at her house, went home, had client drop by to talk about farrier, he lost or wrote it down wrong... so I had to find the number, call and see if it was the same person... and am now coordinating when the farrier comes.

Some sad news...
I have had a new task asked of me, to find a well broke, quiet horse (we have two candidates) for my new client's niece who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, she is 18, she had brain cancer when she was 4, and was in remission at age 8.. but now they give her 4-6 months.

SO for the last two days I have been texting one seller and spoke on the phone... we are going to look at the horses today.

Off to go feed, ride 3 horses for client, watch my niece and go evaluate horses today, try to round up more hay, wash a rug the foster chihuahua has peed on, make dinner...and collapse.
How bout your day??

LOL

Busy day ahead! Run to the co-op this morning to get feed and shavings then it is off to Madison this morning to pick up my Peachick (the sibling to the one that BBP..... I think it is BBP) has.
Come home get the babies all situated and I am sure it is going to be dinner time.

I plan to come home to at least 5 pages of reading... lol Chat away!

Morning all! Busy night at work, had two puppies that weren't doing real well. Really worried about them, as was the assistant mgr, but the owner, not so much
somad.gif
One was a rottie who was very lethargic, only woke up to move to different areas of the "crib" trying to get comfortable. Was not breathing from his chest, but ab, which isn't good. Hopefully they will get him to the vet this morning along with the teeny little pug who wasn't well either. Praying I get this other job, not cut out for this one!

BBP oh I would love a parrolet, but DH doesn't like bird in the house, thinks they are too messy. Besides my one furniture decoration would make it her sole mission in life to get that bird! And it would probably drive poor Murphy crazy, he loves to try to catch the birds flying by!

Carol, so sorry to hear about your clients daughter, so hard when they are so young.

All the talk about taters and all the good garden food has made me HUNGRY for some fresh homegrown goodies! Can't wait until next year! Told DH I'm going to start digging beds this fall and he thought I was nuts. He doesn't understand how time consuming setting up raised beds are, since he knows nothing at all about gardening. He thinks I'm nuts, with my compost piles and all that, poor, poor city boy!

Have a lot to get done today that I've put off, kinda been taking it easy, didn't want to do everything and have nothing to occupy me for the next week
lau.gif
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

DD the youngest had second ultrasound last week and yep, it's a little girl and all the things they "thought" they saw on the first turned out to be nothing. YAY! And her hubby has decided she can actually put some color on the nursery wall. He's one of those, all the walls need to be white kinda guys. Wait til he hears what his son (age 4) wants me to paint on his walls.... Bikini Bottom and the Sponge Bop crew!

And you know I'll do it!

Well, slept late today so I better throw on some clothes get the dog outta the yard and take him for a walk. He's a funny little guy and won't relieve himself in the back yard, prefers the neighbors garden where all the bunnies and other critters hang out. I'm not complaining though as I can walk through my yard and not step in anything I'd rather not!

Have a wonderful day everyone, looks llike it's gonna be a beauty!

Good morning everyone! Had an early morning texting session with Carol. DH is getting ready to go to the races at Elkhardt lake for the rest of the week. He and DS22 and his friend go every year. DD19 is heading back to her apartment today. Her BF is here from Cali for the school year and they are going to an African restaurant on State Street for lunch. (must be nice) She must be thinking that she will miss me cause she is sitting in the kitchen in her towel talking!

THe hay deal I had for yesterday didnt work out...we have 3 bales left! Guess I better get my butt in gear or there are going to be some pretty hungry animals here! Gotta hit the mill too...birdies are low.
I have absolutely no up and at 'em this morning...really should go out and take those chicks back to their mama that I had in here for Dornes. I took another pied guinea out of the bator this AM...guess I have really good luck with hatching those that I find abandoned in half hatched nests!
roll.png

Only 1 client today so that will be nice...I have ribs thawed out for supper...not sure if I will grill them or pop them in the slow cooker for the day. Prob they will get grilled. I picked a huge basket of stuff from the garden...the beans are finally coming in! Nothing like fresh beans grown right in your yard for sure! I added one of the 3rd row of peppers to my mushrooms last night (1-4--mild to hot) and it really made them HOT! I guess I wont be eating any of the 4th row of peppers! (DH will love them though.)

Sounds like my roof guy is here...I guess I better get dressed and get outside...

Later all--Terri O

good morning, beautiful day in progress..
Not much on the agenda,, I now I should do something, but I have nothing planned.. prolly take the trator down to the garden and retrieve the tiller.. for some reason it won't start .

I have to call in to the radio station for swap shop.. busy signal.. I will keep trying.. time's up.. no luck..

something reached through the wire and ate the head off one of the uko kei last night.. It was the end chicken on the roost. That is the first chicken to ever get hit by any predator in that pen. just ate the head.. sounds like a weasel, but it was over 2 feet off the ground.. maybe a mink ?? Annie saw a rat this morning.. but that does not appear like a rat .. a coon would have pulled it right through the fence..

the lady with the bird says that her 4 house cats jump at the cage and drive the cockatiel crazy.. she says that is no way to live.. we talked to Ken about cockatiels without giving any hints about getting one.. He seemed to like them.. His SIL had a pet store and Ken had a lot of exposure to all kinds of animals.. He even handled those big snakes..

I caught the quails eating an egg.. I suspected that since one time I checked and there were 3 and an hour later there were 2.
have to collect every hour, i guess..

the more I type the nervouser I get.. I hate losing posts to never never land..

It's so blasted hard to find good info on Norwegian Jaerhons! Looking at pics of adults, I thought I had the light variety; but the chicks that hatched are most definitely the dark variety. Sooo, Carol I have 3 girls and 2 boys (pretty sure at least.) Do you want one of each? Me and Julie are visiting Terri on Sunday, I figured I'd leave the chicks with her if that's alright. I'm putting more eggs in the bator this week.

For those asking about Shanti, we PMed a little while back, she's around but just busy.

And keep forgetting to say that all the plants (except 1 coneflower that died) from the Bash are going great guns. The lamb's ears is quite happy. Thanks for sharing everyone.

This is my favorite hen, Margie. She has been broody pretty much all spring/summer. I was getting worried about her obsession, so I stopped taking her eggs. This morning she had 3 hatched in her nesting box. 3 eggs left. I took her out with the brood and put her in a large, fresh, cage with her own room service. She's not nervous or twittery so I think she will be fine with the move. Fingers crossed.
