Carol, NOT A GRAY HAIR! OMG...
lol.png
you are in such good company! I love my grays... that's why I quit dying my hair, they are finally coming in good!

Ahhh, another Monty Python fan, no wonder I like you so much!! My other 1/2 just doesn't seem to appreciate them

Poor lad doesn't know what he's missing!

Have decided that I'll buy the property from the lady next door, she mentioned before she's open to carrying the note... now I'll just have to have a discussion with the other 1/2 and see if he'll talk to her about it, she likes him a lot and I think he could definately get the better deal for me!

I sat down today and figured out what I can reasonably do and still have some $$ to put in the trees and build a coop and all, so.... It would be just enough for me to get some chickens legally and not have to worry about the neighbor across the street. Then I could have a wonderful little orchard and garden, then I'd be a most happy camper! Course I still plan on checking the county records and stuff to be double sure of everything, which will mean a trip down to the court house sometime Tuesday... either before or after TO's visit. Not sure what I did with that little piece of paper to get me to you next Tuesday, but if it doesn't turn up I'll pm you for directions again... I'm really looking forward to the visit!

Well, off to get ready for dinner... should be here soon ... chinese, yum.

later peeps

Glad to hear a great time was had at the Southern Bash. Nice pics!

Jim, I PM'd my cousin twice, but haven't heard if she has extra RIR's. I'll let you know if she ever gets back to me...

I canned 13 quarts of applesauce this aft, did peppers and chix stock a couple days ago; I have absolutely NO cupboard space left. And I just picked about 50lbs of unripe maters from the neighbors garden yesterday...where is that gonna go?

The boys are carvin' pumkins tonight, gonna toast the seeds in a minute.

Hmm, no different color egg from the quail, maybe the other one is a boy? No crowing though. The eggs don't look fertile either. They're 7 weeks old. Do different varieties mature at different times? The mystery quail is a Jumbo Brown.

Way to go Pack! 7-0, wooooooot!!

Hi all! Got lots done today while you all were wasting your day watching sports...cleaned out the garden shed and got the space ready to make an inside place for the Blue Ams for the winter...I think I may put the Buckies in with them too. Not sure who is going with who just yet...while cleaning I found 2 nests where the young hens have been laying. I have half of a 5 gal pail full that I will crush and feed to the chickens tomorrow...I was wondering where they moved their nests to! Now I know and I am betting that they will no longer laying that place again!
T-storms here...DD25 just got home and said it was really windy out there too. THe trees will be naked by tomorrow....ok time for ice cream and pumpkin pie liqueur! Terri O

Hummm.... No Jim today? Did I miss that he was going somewhere?

Well, my youngest son, 2nd son and 2 grandsons came over today to help get things ready for winter. I lost allot of space!
barnie.gif
2 garden tractors and the small tiller went in the coop shed. Hubby wanted to put his car in the garage this winter
hmm.png
(who uses a garage for cars?) which meant that half the stuff that was in there wound up in my tool shop!
barnie.gif
But they did decide that 1/2 the lumber I was saving is no good so that went to the burn pile!
barnie.gif
OK, allot of it was scrap... but I built the inside of the coop w/scrap and most of the roosts and the brooder pen w/scrap! And I'm sure most of you have used bits of lumber under 2' to fix this or that.

Boxes of sh!t (90 % DH cr@p I piled up on "his side" for him to go through) went in my work area! And he has a huge pile of clothes to go through

I love them all but!....

Then my youngest was complaining that the house was getting messy and looking like "the old place" Well D@mn! I've been very busy with canning, drying, freezing. Getting the chickens ready for winter. Putting the garden to bed. Having my oldest move in. And I'm still trying to find places for the stuff we moved from the old place! He's been living with a "neat freak" and I guess it's wearing off on him!
hmm.png
He knows any thing I do is going to be "slow" .... there's just so much I can do at a time. D@mn I wish I had the stamina of some of you! How do you do it!?
th.gif

Well, long hard day.... sorry for the rant!

Time for bed! Night!

My DH is in WI for the next 3 weeks. He has been there already a week. He works for a company in Racine. He is teach this month. We live in Washington State.

If the kid complains at my house, he better expect to start cleaning. I also think that if you can't use the scrap pile to build something, then the stuff isn't scrap. I made my DH build me a garden bench out of scraps once. I still love that bench.
