Good afternoon! Got the cooking done [I took the regular Cook's place as she had an appt] I didnt care much for her menu...biscuits and gravy (made with pork sausage from Sentry that was WAY too salty!)carrots and tomato soup (home made--very good!) The plate looked empty and I dont know what I would have added but I guess I sure wouldnt have minded a side of scrambled eggs! Sure wish I woulda thought of it cause I could have brought some and made them...maybe drum up some more customers? They sure liked all the eggs I gave them in the beginning of the week!
Jim you didnt say anything about us posting a minute apart...yep--we still got it! H&R...sure am glad your DH told Jim to unplug the tape BEFORE cutting it!
I thought of that dip stuff too...I used to have a couple cans of it around; I think it ended up getting hard. I guess I am glad that I have a pit to pull the hose into when it gets really cold! The thought of electricity running through water kinda freaks me out! I even hate taking the heated ring out of the goat water and moving it into the horse water! I always think I will get zapped! A tank I used to have must have had a short cause when I would put my hand into the water I would feel a little zing on my ring finger where my wedding ring is! Yup...shortly after that the horses wouldnt even drink out of that tank! They can feel electric current even if we cant...it is really weird. I went to actually putting my lips on the water to see if It was shocking them but I couldnt feel anything...
Does anyone know if there is any kind of tester that you can dip into the water and see if there is any current? THat would be something I would go out of my way to purchase!
There was something else....oh yeah, the Christmas tree!
(I have a TON of tree stories...) Our very first tree DH put in the trunk of our Datsun (bright green) and as we were driving down Capitol Drive in Milwaukee his knot cam undone and the tree fell out! Then some one ran over it! We went back to get it cause we sure couldnt afford another one...it turned out very nice after we got it decorated...then my first cat "Fisherman" was in the middle of it with his little kitten face staring out at us! We had to attach it to the ceiling so it would stay upright....When we didnt have too much $$$ and the kids were little I used to go outside and cut a bunch of branches from our really BIG pines in the yard and stand them up in a crock with water and rocks...that makes a really nice tree!
At this house...very small...I tried an artificial tree for the first time. I figured that if I didnt put the bottom back layer on the trunk I could push it way back into the corner...yeah...the cats had never bothered the tree...during the night we heard a colossal crash! I lost almost ALL of my glass ornaments cause I had hung them HIGH in the tree in case the cats decided to mess with it! My BFF was so sweet and gave me another German Chicken Ornament for my birthday to replace the one that got broken! Speaking of crashes....just heard a big one from the area of the tree.....
Oh good...it was just the basket of jingle bells that is awaiting greens. My theme is stars, balls and bells this year. 3 glass balls have already been taken off the tree and broken! (we have a semi-kitten)
OK one more tree story about my first cat. He always took the crocheted bells off the tree every year, I hung them low so he didnt mess up anything else. THere were 3. SO after he passed I continued to hang them low next to his "Angel Kitty" ornament (we have an ornament for all of our deceased pets) Well, each year every morning, those bells would still be off the tree......Sure wish I could find my camera so I could post a pick of our tree this year...short and round!
Time to get something assembled for dinner...later everyone! Terri O
(PS) owls dont eat guineas when it is raining at night! THey say they are smart....
