FT... Salt dough! Oh the things I've made with salt dough! I also taught crafts so I have recipes for different kinds of doughs. Let me know if your looking for any craft recipes! (That goes for anyone) As for the Nativity Rooster... could be a few things... a.) They just wanted another small "stable critter" b.) Some cultures consider a rooster as a guardian so maybe they felt they needed it to guard baby Jesus.

BigZ....Last year our tree was the very last one Manards had! I think I paid $4 It was nice and full but the trunk looked like it grew around another tree! Very curvey... but it had character! Took a bit to get it to set straight. This year we went with the fake tree we got on clearance last year and some plastic ornaments... Need to have something evil kitten resistant! Yep... we need to get rid of some TVs and computer stuff too! Got rid of some when we moved but 2 TVs went this last year and the previous owners of this place left us a bunch of OLD computer stuff!

$2 each is better than paying someone to take it!

Jim.... I agree on the tree thing.... mater of fact... done it! LOL Well, didn't cut them all off, but it sure got a good trim! Had to tie it to window frame so it wouldn't tip over, worked fine. Gee I wish you were closer too! I was cutting up some of that oak lumber and was thinking some of these pieces would be nice with a little planing.

I still set a few pieces aside for things that don't have to look pretty. Most of the 1x* s warped though so I'm cutting them up. D@mn that oak is heavy! I would love to rent your plucker too! Thought about trying to talk my 2nd son into making one and running a "plucking service". Can't just rent it out because of liability, but if I ran it they could do everything else! ... Glad you managed to keep your head!... in both ways!

I think I have a plan for a outside shelter for the girls but I'm going to need some help moving a sheet of plywood (I have some scrap). the rest I think I could do. I did put in a new "bathtub" for the girls for the winter... hope they like it.

Well, have some wood to stack inside and stoke the fire then off to bed! Night ALL!

As far as the house goes... most of us here would rather have lots of land and some good out buildings than a fancy house! That house is at least as good as some we looked at! At least it looks like it had all the windows!

I like to say... "Better a shack in the woods than a penthouse in the city!"
Yup, we had a bash southern bash in the fall... only a few of us there.

I have a old shed that was unfinished and on a property i bought and would like it gone. Has a opening for a window on 1 side and
could easilly be finished for a ice shack or outside shed with some sideing and shingles. It sits off the ground on some tgi joist looks like to me.
I havent measured but looks to be about 6 feet long by 6 feet wide and at least 12 feet high.
Bring a trailer and its yours free.​

There were a couple other abandoned houses on that road in a little better shape. One with a nice barn, well a barn. hehe

I would rather have a small log cabin to live in. Not so much to clean.

Just need to figure out where to put all my stuff.

That ice shack reminds me of a man here in town who was homeless and built an ice shack on the lake to live in for the winter, Trouble was he was having friends over to drink and the police evicted him.

Good Morning Everyone! Soon after I posted yesterday got the news Noland was born around 9:30 pm. All is good with child and mom! Made a call yesterday and the VA is calling me back with an appointment in the next couple of days to look at the knee. Bigz we could swap stories over a few

Had this knee done before and seem to remember being told that if it happened again it wasn't going to be a good thing. I'll see what they say but if there's a chance that it'll turn out worse I'll just have to keep wrapping it.

First time it was a lot worse than when I had some of my colon removed. I know some of you would trade your best hen for "my" problem sorry for my whinning!

Cind love your shack in the woods thinking! The first year I had this house the youngest DD and ended up cutting down 2 trees out back and put them together to make one. Worked great! Best tree ever! Jim just let it go about the plucker and smile a knowing smile. You can't always fix stupid. I'm living proof of that! tiki looks like a chinese ringneck to me. I always look at old houses thinking that could be fixed up pretty nice. It's an illness, I'm far from getting this old house fixed the way I want it. Now on to TO you are an enabler! We'll be headed down to Delevan xmas eve and back on xmas day. We'd be on the clock so we would be doing a hit and run but I'd take you up on those "special eggs" if you would have 5 minutes for a hand off. Could help you out with the eatin eggs too! Can't remember what the bator holds but would like to bate a full load. Sorry your owl has stuck again! Need any egg cartons? PM me we'll talk. Want to get the bedroom taped today and the last 3 days. We'll see what the knee says. Begining to wonder how were gonna pay for this warm Dec.?

Hello WI people. I live in the door county area and have a free white rooster. he was raised with my ducks, now the ducks do not want him, and the chickens don't want him because he smells like a duck

he was raised on layer, and whatever the ducks eat. he will take food from you and follow you around. he is free if anyone wants him.

My turner quit with the goose eggs.. might have to switch all the eggs to another bator.. It never did work just 100%.. always made a loud clunking sound when it started turning.. Naturally you don't fix it then,,just wait until it quits.

Annie came up with a better plan for when I want to segregate the chickens into their respective flocks.. Instead of putting the flocks into the breeding pens, we are going to gather up the unwanted roosters and put them out,,. then I can have my barred rocks in the guinea pen, and the Delawares in the chicken coop.. I don't know what to do with the Thai chickens yet.. when it warms up, they can go into the lean-to..

the quails in the chicken coop have started laying eggs..

I am going to go to F&F and find a wye for the hose.. Then I am going to insert a heating tape through it into the hose and seal the opening with silicone caulk.. first I have to figure a way to cut the heat tape to about 20 feet and seal it so I don't blow fuses..

when I got home about 11 PM Annie was up.. she took something for her sinuses and said her heart was racing.. she checked blood pressure .. It was OK but her heart rate was high..
I keep telling her that her coughing problem is second hand smoke from Ken, but she knows better.. she chases everybody else to the Dr. but she won't go herself..

My dad always wanted his tree to look good.. He would go so far as to drill holes into the trunk and stick extra branches in where it looked enemic.. He doctored up a lot of trees that way.

Annie has a tiny tree she store in a plastic bag.. It is always decorated.. this year she said she is going to stick it on top of the cockatiel cage.. neither one of us really wants a tree, mom can't see the tree, I guess it boils down to Ken's social workere making sure that he gets access to the holiday spirit.. I don't think that Ken wants a tree either..
