Evening All!
Just thought I'd stop by before Grimm starts to see what's been happening. Not as much as I thought there might be! It was a beautiful day here. I had morning errands to run, then got lunch with DH. Fed dogs, went shopping with Dh. He wanted to got to Target to munch on popcorn and peruse DVD's. At this point he mentions that the dogs want to have their gifts wrapped since "they love it so". So here I was thinking I got lucky by not having to wrap gifts this year and DH ruins it! So while I was a Target I got wrapping paper. I have to say, their selection sucked. Not very Christmas-ie. Most of the paper was very modern or very non-traditional stuff. I mean pink, lime green, and turquiose? Seriously? Or art deco black and white? Really? Justin Beiber!?! Come On!! What happened to just plain christmas wrap...trees and Santa, reindeer and candy canes? Who wraps Christmas gifts with brown paper with glittery gold leaves? Oops! Total rant! Sorry!

Ahem....soooo....I got 8 eggs today. The Girls are doing good and the enjoyed the sun while it lasts...

Evening all, just finished baking Gingerbread cookies with the kids tonight! Probably last a day maybe two

Watching Beauty and the Beast on TV, had to remind DS(6) that he watched it before and he wasn't scared

MLH- Menards seemed to have a better selection of more traditional wrapping paper.

Have our 1st christmas gathering on Sunday- DH's side of the family

MLH, you bought X-mas wrapping paper solely to wrap your dog's presents? Ummmm..........well.................

Ok, firstly, I kinda don't think they'll be too offended at the "non-traditional" holiday colors/patterns. In fact, they might take great satisfaction in ripping Justin Bieber to itty bitty undistinguishable little shreds. Maybe they'll even throttle him for a good long while first.

And secondly, would your dogs be so greatly upset if you went a little green this holiday season and wrapped their presents with some colored sales papers you may have gotten in your Sunday paper, or some magazine pages you rescued fromn the recycle bin? Reduce, reuse, recycle, or is that not their thing?

Evening all !!

I'm Pooped !!! Went to feed store, got 900 lbs layer food, 100lbs of chick starter, 200 lbs of cracked corn. $199.?? some odd change. Had two $3.00 coupons on the Nuetrena chick starter.
So that brings my per lb price for all of it to $.166666666667 Not bad all in all.

Then went to Copps to get my ham for $.99 lb. Had to spend $25. First I thought I'd have a problem doing that, walked out with a $53 reciept !!

They carried the soup brand Bigzio bought but didn't have the Ham base.

Then went to Walmart, they had the same brand that my local store had but no Ham Base !!! So guess it is back to Crandon to get it.
Bought the baby some more plastic balls (100 for $10) to go in her whatever you call it she got for her birthday, not enough balls in it to have any fun (like the ones at McDonalds) Bought some more fabric to make some chicken aprons and flannel to line them. Now just need to sit down and do it !!!!

Sure am getting tired of having to shop for the best price on everything. The mini pig food I bought at the Purina store was $15 for 25 lbs. Checked today at my mill and it will be under $10 !!!! Different brand but who cares ! $5 bucks is $5 bucks !!
Didn't collect my lavender silkie eggs today. Will have to do it tomorrow !!! On top of doing mornng chores !!! DH has to work tomorrow and Sunday !!! We can sure use the $$ since I can spend it faster then DH can make it but holy cow is their no rest for the wicked ????
No matter where I go I am reminded of all of you here on BYC Cheeseheads. At Wally World I saw a Santa hat that I know Jim would look good in !!! It was Black and said "Bah Humbug" !!!

And hanging next to it was the red and white striped stocking cap that his grandchildren wear with the elf ears attached !!!!

Spent way to much time in the toy department again tonight !!! I am really really jealous of all the neat toys that are out there. When I was a kid we tried and tried to make a swimming pool for our Barbies. I remember taking plastic baggies and clothes pins in our failed attempts !! What do I see tonigt ? A Barbie swimming Pool !!!!

And all the little dog and cats for barbie pets !!!! Well, my Barbie had Jonny West and a Thunderbolt horse to play with !!!

Oh well got another Dvd to watch from GiddyupFlix today. "Harnessing, Hitching and Driving" Hope I don't fall alseep !!! Was up til past 4am this morning before I went to bed !!! So not sure if is still today or tomorrow or ?????

FT thanks for the site info! Wish it were warmer out I'd put him in the garage in the TV and give it another go. It sure makes a difference if the suns out. They won't come out of the coop unless it's shining.

CC I know it seems very strange to me too about them only laying for 2 years. Eggspected them to lay occasionally after that. That's why I'm going to a barnyard mix no more expensive store boughts! Bigz that sucks about running out of fish! I might get over to a cranberry marsh today to talk to an owner I know and see if he'll let me set up a shack on his place. Only a couple of miles from here, sure would be nice.

Laura is very happy to be home! We were sitting having coffee this morning and she says boy it sure is quiet.

Good morning! That is not a bad site FT...some of it is definitely geared toward the "pet aspect" of keeping chickens but the medicine part is good. Sometimes it is hard to find that information when you need it! I could certainly add some info too! I know what you mean about about thinking about our chicken friends all day! I see stuff and think, "Oh I gotta tell ____ about this!" It drives my family crazy! Funny about the black Santa hat! And couldnt you just see a little one toddling around singing "HI Ho Hi HO...?" with that hat and ears?

We got about 2" of snow last night....I suspected it as I was waking up cause the cars onthe road sounded muffled. I mentioned to DH that I think we got snow...he said I hope not! Then the plow went by...unfortunately I think it took out my egg sign! Just when it was starting to work too! I guess my new one will have to be RED!

Congrats on more blue eggs Cind! Arent they just so much fun to find? NOw you have to get some DARK egg layers cause they are fun too. My basket looks kind of festive with all the colors I have now...
DrH...you and L need to put your jammies ON before driving to our place! We NEVER get out of PJs on Christmas Day! You will be out of place in clothing!
