Whew! I made it back alive! Costco was not that bad. Dh and I figured we'd be in line for at least an hour but nope walked right up and checked out! I over heard one employee mention that next Saturday (the 24th) was going to be a nightmare for them. I guess every one was getting ready for the game.
DH and I also "braved" the mall thing off I-90/I-39 near the Sun Prairie exit. East Town Mall I think it's called. We went to Panera for lunch. I was thinking it again would be a complete zoo, but nope! It really was not all that bad.
So over all the shopping trip was successful! I survived and we got presents for all the accounts that he wanted to get gifts for. The Pupsters also got an extra bag of Yummy Chummies Salmon treats!

FT- Finding American made stuff is getting harder and harder. And people wonder why the economy sucks and the unemployment rate is high!
Not sure what your looking for as a gift, but if your looking for useful, Lodge Cast Iron, Nordic Cookware/bake ware are Made in the USA - you can find Lodger at Gander Mountain, Target, and F&F and Nordic Cook and bake ware I have seen at Target, F&F.
Pryrex and Anchor Hocking glass bakeware and storage containers are made in the USA. Big lots, Shopko, and Target carry them. So does Wally World but I refuse to shop there. Here are a couple of good links to American Made products. It might be too close to Christmas to ship, but I find that if I stay more in the "main stream" side of things, I usually can find the same item at local stores.
You might also have luck at your local Wal Greens! Russell Stover Chocolates are made in the usa as are Whitmans Chocolates. Maybe you could make a nice Chocolate assortment? That would be a winner at the White Elephant Exchange!! Any way, hope this helps in your search!

As far as a western-WI bash-should we invite MN/WI border BYC'ers as well? I know there are people in Hudson, New Richmond, and St Croix that may be interested. What about New RIchmond? Or even Amery?

Uh Tatters.. I don't think you can technically be a hermit if you come on here all the time.. !! LOL Just kidding.
I see you more like a Hindu Holy Man, you get to wander around, dress funny, not have to bathe if you don't want and people love to talk to you and ask for advise or blessings!!
Just get yourself a cow and some paint and you are all set!!

Well the packers lost, DH is upset, Joan is upset....
I had an OK ride with the neighbor, my mare was a pisser, but did go out alone for the mile ride to neighbors house, she rode her OLD arab mare who acted anything but old...
It was a "working" ride, not a fun ride, I tell ya!! But it was fun to go out in December in less than freezing temps!

Told Tiger last night...." I'll be right back, just going out to feed the rats and chickens"....

ehem yes I talk to my dog.

Found a couple a mini holes today so I stuffed the holes full of poison and then put a board over so the chickens couldnt get it. I need to do a tin can patch inside the coop yet tonight. Been saving that can for a reason...... Too bad so many of those cans have rounded edges on the bottom, what a waste.

MLH So Glad you made it back in one piece!!

Although I enjoy the warmth, I think when it is supposed to be winter it should be winter.

My avatar...during the warm months of the year I work with my Amish and Mennonite neighbors. Much of how they work a farm, I work my place...by hand, not machines. My garden is ploughed by horse that I borrow from the Amish. My lawn is mowed by a walk behind push mower. I use a scythe to take care of long grasses in the field. Slowly I am converting my home to a place where I'll have no motors running the place. Though I'm not Amish, I am working to be off the grid and yes that means one day not having a computer either, while at the same time living as simple as I can with limited b.s. I wish I could truly get a horse to go with the buckboard wagon I made 2 years ago, but alas I have no room for a horse
