Yep, I posted a few weeks ago right after Christmas. Rob is an Urban Forester and is from LaCrosse. He met my niece at UWSP. Anyway at Christmas I told him to be careful because of what I had heard about the accident with Casey. He said I might know the guy ! I said his name and he said yep he knows him. I thought boy word gets around in the Forestry business (He works for I think Cook Cty in IL) (Some Cty in Ill anyway) Then he said he was either a year ahead or behind Casey in High School and that he went to UWSP too !!
Small world hey?

Evening All!

Not much going on here although I have to retract an earlier statement I made about Super Glue not being as worthless as I had originally believed. Yup. W.O.R.T.H.L.E.S.S. is her new name! Dear SG has decided that in keeping with the storied and long history of her ancient breed, that she needs to brood. In the dead of winter. Or the sudo (sp?) dead of winter that we are having. So, now I have to either give her eggs to hatch or break her brood. *sigh*. Stupid Chicken.

So sad the Lions lost. I finally had to change channels. It was hard to watch the end.

Thanks for the nice comments about T'sai. You should have seen her in her hay day. (no pun intended!) I used to ride her for hours on end and she was one fit pony! She might be short but what she lacked in height, she made up for in width and grit! She did everything I asked and some things stuck really well like dressage and others did not-mostly obdience (sp)! She is still quite the fire cracker even in her elderly years she has gumption.

TO-I always tell newbie horses owners to be prepared horses are expensive and just remember "Horses eat all things green including money!" LOL!!

Well, I'm sure there is more I should say, but I can't remember what I was going to write!
Have a great night

My 3 roos that are just discovering the whole mating? Well one of them bite the other comb and it won't stop bleeding-Im covered in blood, its running down him and the roost is now covered. I've put on the blood stop powder-no help-and just tried cornstarch...he seems like hes geting weak too. (Made a panic call to BBP ) Anyone ever lose a roon to a bleeding comb? Didn't look that bad for the first 10-15 mins...then it started flowing. Any suggestions?

Never had an attack that bad. I would just apply pressure for a long long time and don't lift up to check. Don't know what else to tell you. Maybe post in emergency section? Good luck. What kind of Roo? How big is his comb?

Yikes! How horrible, Angie. Deep breaths. You can handle this. Just keep the pressure on it. It will stop.
Would Blue-kote help to stop the bleeding?

Blue Kote the purple antibiotic? I could try that? I feel nausous...Never had this much blood when raising parrots and the Quik Stop always worked. Someone in the emergency section suggested cauterizing it-but not even sure how to go about doing that. I swear, Im only 5 months into chickens and first one with paralyzed legs that Im still nursing along, and now this!!!
