Oh yes, give hugs to all the Packers...now their season is over and we can get back to "normal" life! I WISH...doesnt matter who is playing DH will be watching! if it's not football then it's hockey or basketball or baseball...I have even caught him watching golf and BOWLING!

Talk about a waste of time! I just cant see it myself....sometimes I just wish the TV could be OFF for a whole weekend!

Our daughters are going to The Wilderness tomorrow until next Sunday...guess I will be doing ALL the chores again. It has been nice having DD19 home from school cause she will help at least with the morning. Good to have help when you need it...like moving goats today!

OK--I guess I should go out and lock up. I am having some popcorn for my usual Sunday supper...I will attempt to remember my camera and take a pic of the lamb Tommy.

I'm with Terri on this one...now everyone can put their green gear away, and focus on REAL LIFE like CHICKENS!!!

I feel for you Terri...sports is ever so overrated...now you just need to hide the digital tv box, the controllers and cut through any satellite wires. Hubby can always sit down and listen to the games on the radio LOL

Sorry about the Packers, they sure did muck the game up.

Oldest DD is doing a report on the History of fabric dyeing so we were mixing up dyes with the stuff I have for dyeing my soaps and did some muslin. She thought the whole process was pretty cool and a lot of work. I tried to get my indigo to work but I was missing a crucial chemical so we will have to try again after I pick up some RIT dye remover. I REALLY want her to see how the chemical reaction takes place as the yellow/green material comes up out of the dye and changes to what we call Denim blue due to exposure to oxygen.

The kids were finally able to go sledding today. Youngest DS tried out his Snowboard; with many flops to the ground.

Hey where are all the smiley emoticons?????

Not much happening here, at least I managed to get all the Christmas decorations taken down and put away when we had our warm weather!

Sheesh--nobody is posting! Everyone depressed about the game I guess? Going out now for chores...I forgot to check my email since before my B-day and I had 458 emails to read and delete! GLad that's done! I will post in a little bit IF I get a decent pic out there! Terri O

I am sad the packers lost.. glad the season is over for us.. sort of.. and glad the DH is not a fan of any other sport, well except the olympics.. and horse stuff like jumping and such.

I swear Joan's geese are the wusses!! They had the last few days in, and today was nice... snowy but nice.. her chinese crested kept trying to get back in, I had the door mostly closed and he was trying to get in.. you would see his long neck and head come in.. he would honk and squawk, pull his head and neck out, then try again...
I eventually gave in and put some grain out for them and filled a coffee can full of water for them...

I was out feeding and man is it windy!!
I am hoping to make it to the barn tomorrow with my niece, I am watching her tomorrow, then working in the late afternoon.
I want to let her spend some time with her pony!!

Hi all!

FT.... I think that hen might be being sold as a fighting bird. I looked up "Thai Plucker Hen" and all kids of nasty videos came up! (didn't watch ANY!) Apparently they fight hens too

Sure am glad "Storkey" is such a good girl. Never saw her aggressive at all. I guess "plucker" is the way they fight... by plucking each other.

DrH..... Now you can go back to Chicky daddy.

TO.... very cool about the lamb! Inviting us all to dinner?

Didn't' get much done today, almost like a day off... almost. Decided my hand better get healed quick! (Maybe 1 more week

) DH is driving me nuts with him cutting those pallet and oak boards! First off, every time he uses the miter saw the blade gets loose. I think he forces the cut instead of letting the saw just ease through.

At first he was cutting them almost too big to fit in the stove, so I showed how big is a good size. (cut the boards in thirds and showed him with my hands) Now we have 4 boxes of wood from 3 to 6 inches long!

Not to mention I worry about him cutting off a finger! But the saw handle is just too hard for me to grab with my 2 biggest fingers out of order.

I love him BUT...

Oh, and he cut one of those oak boards while it was still wet. Must keep him away from tools! I don't know if I want him to get the chainsaw running or not. ***insert WORRIED smiley*** (Did I mention his shop teacher passed him on the condition he never tough tools again?

) OK... guess I'll keep him anyway

I did trim the beak of the hen with the hooked beak again. It seemed to have kept growing! I didn't think they did that.

This time I took the solider iron to it afterward. It didn't bleed much, but I wanted to make sure. She was eating and drinking within 2 hours. I think I might take it down a bit more in a week or so, it still curves over her lower beak. I hate doing it, but she's way under weight because she can't eat as well.

This spell check sucks!

Another Very Good Morning All! Sure FT watches one stinkin game and makes meatballs and look what happens.

I'm a lot better today, too tired to get too excited. Have one chick in the bator this morning and another about out of it's shell. Only 2 more eggs are pipped in there and their HO and Beaker, losing hope on those 2. Will give it a couple of more days.

But there's 15 chicks in the brooder the last one hatched is small and looking weak.

Yesterday I spilled out some feed on the floor and they are eating, going to dip their beaks in water today. I see some cold weather comin guess we need to get through that before it warms up eh?

Good Morning DrHa !!!! I said I was sorry !!

Guess it was the Super Bowl Meatballs !!! Please forgive me all you Packer fans !!

The Meat balls were made with Venison and Beef mixed. Turned out pretty good if I must say so myself !!
I can't believe I'm still up. I went downstairs with OM at 9pm to start hanging the nipple waterers. Not sure I am going to like the way we are doing it. The pails I'm using are to big to hang in the cages and makes them to low for the silkies. They can still use them but I think they should be higher.
I wanted to put PVC pipe thru the sides and have the pails on the outside, which would make it easier to fill and clean but to make it easier for OM I opted to put them inside !!! Cindlady you are not alone !!! He is ok with tools but just try getting him to use them !!

That's all I'll say about it, for now anyway.
So I decided to hang some of the pails but still fill their original waterers.
Thought it would be an early night but disovered some mites on some of them. That freaked me out so I spent until 6:30am down their dusting and bathing silkies. And I'm not done yet !!!

So looks like I'll be cleaning and dusting all of the pens sooner then I thought !!! I don't want them to get out of hand.

So Doc !!! How many total out of 30 right? What is the mystery eggs ????? Inquiring minds want to know.

Suppose I should hit the hay but I am so sore I could hardly crawl into bed !!! I knew it was getting late or should I say early when the ball of my foot started to hurt !

16 out of 30 and one still zipping. Will check the other eggs for clears when I pull the one chick out after it's done drying. Cind sorry the OM isn't a handy guy! Must be frustrating. At least you are! I know a lot of people that shouldn't own even a hammer. TO your down to 14 good things to do. You already did 36 for me.

Your the BESTEST! I hope you wrote down what the other clears were at day 18 otherwise it's going to be a long look to find that post. The weak chick is looking better! Can't wait till the bating is done, starting to stink in here. PeeYouuu!
