I got put on a waiting list for Blue Andalusians from Chets today. Oh well I guess I can wait!...Like everyone else I would like to have some little chicks around the house for me and my daughter! I guess I will just have to wait for my small order to be filled and see what hatches out of the incubator!

FT...I am going to try and make the presentation at the Mazo hardware store, and get a few people that always ask me about chickens to attend also...always nice to put a face to an anonymous person on the internet! lol

New Joe, I prefer pellets. They don't seem to waste nearly as much as when I fed them crumbles. But like Bigz said, everyone will have a different opinion. It isn't that anyone is wrong, you just have to experiment to find what works best for your unique situation.

H&R, so good to hear from you again. I am so very sorry to hear about Cassie. That is so hard to loose a beloved member of the family.

Well, right after I posted about whomever had the snow can keep it, it started snowing here last night.

This morning I woke up to the yard completely white, but by the time I was out of the shower, it all melted.

It can stay away too. Winter had it's chance to shine. C'mon Spring!

Ah, I'm still laughing my butt off about the Chicken Fairy!

Well the Girls are back to about 8 to 9 eggs a day again!

Makes all that feed worth it!!

H&R=I'm so sorry about Cassie. Sometimes the hardest decisions we make are the kindest.
If you still have those pullets available I'll take them.

TO-I agree with you on the dog CL ad. I had to re-read it but yes, I think that rescue is trying to help that dog. What really chaps my hide is that poor dog whose only fault is it is too smart, has a family that cannot handle it.

DrH-I'm glad you see to be feeling better!

NJ-Hope to see you are the seminar. I feed crumble but I'd rather feed mash. My Girls prefer mash and do better on it.

Oh no! My last bantam egg hatched, turns out it was a turken pullet egg! Its an ugly little sucker. No fifth toe, no feathered legs. So most likely 1/2 Iowa Blue or lavender orpington. I'll get pictures when they're all dry.

Hi all,

2nd son called this morning and said I should order the fingers for the chicken plucker and build the frame!

Guess he's been talking to the guys at work about it and it's turned into a group project! I'll even have some stainless steal parts! Need an opinion though, (Jim) The guys want it to be able to handle geese too. Anything they have to change?

Oh how cute. Is it a LF Turken Pullet? What color is she? I love turkens. If it's a pullet and you want to rehome let me know. I have bantam turkens and they are so cute. A look only a mother can love. LOL Pictures please !

How many Blue Andalusians are you looking for? Do you just want pullets? We might have some extra again in a few weeks but they won't be day olds probably more like several weeks old and we might have a few black and splash colors too.

Anyone watching Dr Oz. One cure for fatigue is to eat 2 Scrambled eggs with a side of cantaloupe for Breakfast. Worth a try.

Then Coryceps mushrooms. Yuck, they grow on the heads of Coryceps catapillers !!! I won't be trying that one !! YUCK !!

I just got up from a nap, I kept hearing the pump running. I thought DH was doing laundry or ???? Turns out the hyrant handle is up and he is no where to be found. Guess the Ducks are enjoying their swim.

Still don't know where he is. Saw a note on the table from his work, he goes back to work next week, new hours. 8-4

Still will never get back the two weeks we lost with no UE.

Oh well, expensive vacation for him !!! Me NOT !!! LOL

My understanding about that dog is that the Rescuer has it because she said she was ok at her house. ????
