Well, it's official. I set 7 LO's I got from a woman in MI. They were not shipped so keeping my fingers crossed that they all hatch. Then I set 11 Black/lavender split silkies. 1 Buff silkie egg.
And 12 BbS silkies I got in the mail from a silkie breeder that sent replacement eggs that she owed me. Hopefully I'll get a pure lavender hen or two or 11 LOL
The BbS eggs were extra left overs that she had from a cancelled order that she included. No guarantee on those but asked if I wanted them and I said sure.
Of course my Lavender Orp hen is not laying since she is doing the 2 second drill !!!!
I guess the LO eggs I got came from a breeder in WI that got the originals from GreenFire. I'll have to see if they came from West Bend. Then CC and Bigfam and I will have related birds.
Ok, starting to faded fast. Potty break over, time to go back to bed !!! Night again all !!! LOL
Oh and I'm trading paint silkie eggs with the person I bought my paint silkie Roo from. She has a Paint showgirl roo in with her paint silkies. We're trading 10 eggs so hopefully I'll get one or two showgirls !!!Then I'll be in the paint silkie business and will have several breeding pairs !!! Can't wait. The eggs are selling for a very nice price right now !!!!
Hopefully the rain will hold off this weekend. We need to get the hens moved to their own coop. I'll let the roos take over two of the campers with the guineas and fend for themselves instead of fighting over the hens.
I'm also going to order some dewormer from Jeffers, pour on for cows that doesn't have a withdrawal time. Expensive but worth it if you don't have to dump the eggs.
My guineas are laying. Boy are those shells tough !!!
The eggs I have in the bator are replacements from Bargain in Ga. I never got eggs from the lady in West Bend. Sssoooo I guess I will have to get eggs or chicks from you or CC sometime...
BTW... If you're president of LLLCW, CC can be vice president, and I can be in charge of Public Relations... (cause I'm so good at it 
) I think I might plant garlic and red onions this weekend. My starters are my harvest from last year. Not a lot, but the one onion is sprouted in the basement already. I just saw my elephant garlic has sprouted outside! Only 3, but it's still cool! May be I'll clean up around them too, even get some fertilizer on them. That would be a first.
I posted a long post last night with a pic. But of course it is mia. I found my first curbside treasure! It's going to be the door to the coop. But it's really cool, with diamond wind panes in the top half. I want to make it a Dutch door too. It was funny when I saw it, because hubby said he'd build my coop Sunday, then I go into town and see the perfect door not 5 min later! As to the coop... He thinks he'll get it done on Sunday. As in start and finish it Sunday. " it's just four walls and a flat roof right? Shouldn't be a problem". Lolololololol... Yes we'll see. Terrible thing happened last night. I went to pick up the 6 yr old from a friends house. He'd never been there before, so wanted to show me "stuff". So the other mom and me go into the backyard to see what the boys want to show me. They're swinging and jumping off. Yep, ok. Then his friend jumps off, we hear a snap and a wail of pain. She goes to him, and says I think he dislocated his arm! I go over to look, and his arm is floppy with a dip in it! So they're off to the hospital! Poor poor baby... Broke both the bones in his arm and is going under general anesthesia at 8 am to set the bones properly. Just broke my heart!!! My third son broke his arm much the same as this little guy 5 days after I gave birth to the youngest. I'm getting my first postpartum shower at home when I hear " BONES... STICKING OUT... HOGAN... ARM...". I get queasy just thinking about it! We're going to drop off a get well package for the friend this evening. Poor sweet kiddo!
