Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Thank you all so much, everyone, for your prayers and concern for my baby.

You are all truly wonderful friends. He is doing ok, but is understandibly very tired. And he suprised the heck out of me when I tried giving him one of his pills. One of the medications is a horse pill, just huge. They did say I could break it or crush it into his food, but I thought I'd try just giving it to him first. Well, he sniffed it and gobbled it right down!

Must have been tuna flavored? In any case, I was so darn relieved he ate it with no problems because he has to get that one every 8 hours.

At least all the rest of the medications are only once a day.

Here is our Ramses a few minutes ago. His daddy went to the store to fill one of his prescriptions & pick him up some tuna and sardines.

Beautiful, Heather, just beautiful. All I gotta say is (to repeat others): clear coat. Lots & LOTS of clear coat. Otherwise those chickens will show you how artistic they can be on those walls.

The wall that faces the run. Special because it has a nice window, and skylights, with a plexi glass window above the skylights.

My second poop board/roost with built in brooder/speration pen...

Next my window with a hardware cloth shutter. It fills up the ledge so the birds cant sit and poop on it!

Skylights...

The final Wall....

ha ha... here's the final wall...

I get the nesting boxes for my birthday after the bash. It will go right here beneath my farm/ future business name (gotta dream bit you know!)

And yes... my hubby built it. Yes I am the crazy painter. And in total, the largest item purchased was $50 for the window. This coop is 15 ft long x 12 ft wide. Total spent to built the coop $100- $150.

I hope you all love it, as I hope all my chicken babies will too... (and duck babies... and guinea babies...!)

WOW!!!!!!!!!!

Super nice coop there, girlie! As for your question, no, Ramses is not the cranky kitty. That is Socks, DHs other favorite. She is the only girl I have left. All the rest are boys. Wonder why she's cranky????

Can you all believe little miss pottymouth got our 20,000 post?!?!?!?!?!? What's up with that?

Seriously CC.. The 20,000th post should have been used to showcase my dedication to the environment I have created to love and shelter my chickens, don't you agree?

I kinda wish it would have had swearing in it though... ;)

Your coop is flipping ADORABLE Big Fam!!!! loooooooove the clouds and all the painting you did!!!! Just adorable and your memorial is so sweet

Welcome Welcome GN!!!!

CC, I nursed my 18 year old kitty along. Injecting fluids and the like. Our love for our kitties is so huge. I found myself bawling about her just a couple months ago and she's been an angel now for 5-odd years. Our love is huge. And I'm sure Ramses knows it. You and your family including your furbabies are in my thoughts and prayers.

Good early evening! Finally sitting down for a bit...my feet are killing me! I dont know what's going on but I am getting a new pair of Redback boots at the horsefair FOR SURE!!! I have worn them for about 5 years now and they are the only thing that my feet are happy in I swear! I thought these nice expensive walking shoes would work...nope!
Great job on the whole coop Heather and hubby! One think I saw...you know those "clouds" on the horizon? I think you should paint some legs and ears and eyes on 'em! They look like sheep to me! LOL! Just ignore me....

(I love the skylights!)
****...I just looked at the clock and realized that it is AFTER FIVE! I was supposed to call the mill for feed today...
I guess I will be making a trip to F&F for some laying mash and outside cat food! I hate when that happens!
MXM--that is exactly what I should have done! Too bad I didnt think of it! You have got to come to the bash! It is soooo fun! Never know, you might just find some nice chicks to take home with you.
CC your kitty looks very contented laying there. They sure hide being sick well dont they?

It sure doesnt look like we are going to get any rain today...I thought it looked like it would at about 4..it got real windy and there was a nasty looking cloud line to the North. Now it is brightening up and the sky even looks kinda blue! We sure need the rain though! I was reading an article about alfalfa and they said that farmers that do it right might get 6 cuttings this year if they time it right! I sure hope it drives the price of hay down! (wishful thinking)
My daughter sent me a link for a TN Walker horse out in Waunakee...I replied to her and I might go out and see him this weekend...not that I need another horse...what's with these enablers anyhow? I have one in my own family!

OK--I think I am going to go out and brush my current horse...he needs to get out and have some extra groceries--he looks like a skeleton.

(PS) Supper report...the @ss didnt eat his dinner last night(I guess he was pouting)so it's in the fridge! I am having popcorn!

I agree with cind about no withdrawal time using the sevin...I've been using it almost 40 years, not only on the poultry, but dogs and veggies too when needed.

Welcome GN...glad you can make the bash!

Won't be long TO and the OM will get tired of starving himself....being thin isn't for everyone....I like fat and happy better!

How you like that feed frenchie?
