I've broken the side bone in my foot years ago when I was walking barefoot and my little toe got caught is a milk crate I had on the floor to hold magazines !! Toe got caught in the crate and my body kept going forward. The same thing happend to my hand. I was carrying a lawn chair out to the garage and the chair caught something I had left in the driveway and little finger stayed back while I propelled forward. Ended up with a cast half way up my arm for that one. Funny how i just brake the outer small digits !! The rest of my body parts just get either yanked out or cut off !!!!

Thanks for the link to the camper CC. Looks nice but more then we can afford right now even though that is a good price. Sad part is about 5 yrs ago DH sold a very nice camper to his friend. It was about that same size. He kept it at his friends place near Arkdale to use for hunting. His friend and family used it as well. Then after we bought our place up here DH thought we didn't need the camper. So he sold it to his friend DIRT cheap. He did the same thing with his Harley. Sold that to a friend of his at Snap On. Took a huge Loss on that too. Don't know what is wrong with that man !!!

I think he has it backwards. He buys high and sells low !!!

I should have paid more attention to that when I met him !!! Let's just put it this way, I will never be a rich woman !!!

I went to deliver eggs today in town then stopped at the Humane Society Thrift store. I got a real neat lamp with horses on it. Had to Pay $8 for it but it is nice. Usually their things aren't priced that high. I don't mind though since it goes to the animals. Also got a brand new cribbage board with Crandon WI engraved into the wood. It's real big and square shaped. $5
And a very nice heavy duty fry pan with cover for $3. That was the best deal. Well actually the best deal was a bunch of magazines they were giving away. Oh and a nice oval plastic strainer for $.75. Will use that to dry my eggs after I wash them.

Then we went out for Friday Fish Fry to the same place we went the last two Friday. Thanks Bigz for all your Talk about FFF everyweek. Now I"m hooked on FFF !!! You can't go wrong for $7.5 all you can eat !!

I saw today how the Belgian must be getting out of the fenced area. She is putting her head under the third strand of plastic electrified fencing (electric is not working on it right now) from the bottom (there are 4 strands ) Then she pushes forward as she is eating the greener grass on the other side of the fence. Because the fencing has some give to it when she pushes into the second from the bottom strand it gets lower and lower on her legs. Then I think she just steps over that strand and goes between the second and third strand.
So now we are going to add another strand of 14 gauge hot wire between those two strands. That ought to work for the drafts and the pony.

Well, I had better get to bed. Morning is going to come real early. My family is up at the cabin for the weekend. Sister and I might go rummaging in the moriing.

Oh I know what I was going to report GOOD NEWS too. I have two new additions to my famlily/flock.
I hatched out one Lavender Orp and a Lavender/Black Split Orp tonight. From two different lines. They are adorable. They weren't due until Saturday and these were all fluffed up and looking like happy little campers.

I will have to post pitures of them and my new paint silkies, Lavender split silkies and my new runner ducks too.

Good Dreary Morning All! Looking forward to seeing Cindi today! Will get a little yard back when the stove goes hoping she see's some other things that she needs!

Thinking as long as she made the trip might as well get a truck load. Maybe take some chicken wire and cover the truck box and fill it with roo's

The first batch of Flycatchers hatched yesterday 4 more bug eaters on the way.

L and I were talking last night and we think we might be able to swing the Bash too. We just have too many things going on this month. Nothing is written in stone! L pointed out how I would be upset if we didn't go. She's right I would be. Thought at first maybe just coming for the day but then we'd miss out on the firepit bulls*it. So I guess we'll have to figure something out so TO can get her smoke filled hug.

There are so many special people! Hoping fm and Becky will show up again and maybe Paula would make an appearance? So many great people. Could almost start a fire just to take the dampness out.

Not much going on here.....the chickens are good as are the bunnies. Kiwi -Rabbit has a runny eye but other then that he is ok.

Argh! Stupid Cat!!! BTB just snagged my Toaster Strudel with his gross cat paw!!! Yuck! There goes my breakfast....Darn Cat!

Well, I best be off anyway....dump day is today and I've gotta go load the truck....

Good sleepy morning to you all! I am all alone here in our little room on BYC....everyone must have stuff to do! Well, I do too but this is so much nicer reading about you guys doing stuff! I had to read several things to DH...I was laughing so hard about FF's parts being cut off and cat paws on toast and picturing cind on her way home with a cap of chicken wire filled with roos!

You are right DrH...way too many people to see and give a hug to...no one should miss the bash! It would be like not attending a family reunion. SO is someone contacting the folks we have been missing here? I could give FM a call...I believe I still have her number.

BL4--that is bad about your cat. I am thinking renal failure at that age. I have been through it with 3 or 4 of my oldsters. Not fun but if it is a favorite one you do it. PM me if you want.

Safe travels Cind and Hubby--now you will be nice and warm with a "new" stove.

Today I am going to check out MXM's chicken fortress. As I have been calling it...she wants to know if it will keep her chickens safe BEFORE she puts actual birds in there...by the pictures it sure looks like she and her DH have done nice work...I get to see her house too.

I sure am hoping that it is the one I have been dying to see for many years. As long as I am out that way I will take some fresh eggs to a lady that runs the market and gave me all those raw peanuts back in January. She was a very nice woman...shelives right by the Piggly Wiggly so I will probably have to stop there too...sounds like my day is staking shape. I guess I better get dressed and get the chores done!

good morning, you are not alone TerriO, I was busy PM'ing someone otherwise we would have posted on top of each other, again..

I just got my first peek at the cockatiel baby.. Man,, it IS tiny.. It looks like a fuzzy yellow caterpillar.. about 3/4 inch long.. without a doubt,, the smallest bird I have ever seen..

I have guineas, barocks, and Delawares hatching.. I did not get them moved into the hatcher soon enough.. so all the incubator turners are stopped ..

I am going to transfer the older chicks in the brooder to one of the breeding pens, and then I will have enough room to put the new hatchlings..

I think I will stop collecting hatching eggs from the Dels.. I have a feeling I will be needing that pen soon for more chicks..

we had a nice soaking rain.. that was great for my newly planted potatoes.. now it can dry up for a few days if it wants to..
If I have time today, I think I want to go to the Amish greenhouse and get my plants while the selection is still good.. (and while I still have some of my allowance $$ left)..

Annie put the peahen into a hospital pen.. It was snuggled in the pines for the night,, too easy of a target for a pred..

I am thinking of getting rid of all my turkey hens.. I might keep just one for Tommy.. If it weren't for Ken, I would get rid of them all,,, Tommy, too..

The call duckling is doing better today. at least he is drinking and staying upright.. If he were a bit more mobile, I would let the geese raise him with their gosling..

I'm having issues over here too. First of all, another call duck hen is missing. So now I'm going to have to see if she comes around and follow her to her nest. Hopefully she's on a nest and not dead. Also, i had 4 cochin chicks die today! Now an orpington looks sick and has bloody poop. I guess I should have been feeding medicated feed. I switched to it now, but it's obviously too late for some

I'm going to pay for the new horse tomorrow. I'll try to get some pictures.

sorry to hear about the chicks, we are struggling with the same stuff here- cocci- our group of 5 week old cuckoo marans chicks started showing problems on Tuesday and they have been on medicated feed since day 1. We are treating with Sulmet in the water, started out with 11 chicks and as of this am have 5 remaining and you can see that they are feeling poorly. They are in their own pen so they can rest and no-one else bothers them.

BBP- my heart goes out to you. we try so hard to do the best for our animals and sometimes the "best" can slip past unnoticed. Seriously, I have nightmares about it, so my heart is truly with you and hoping for the best.

FT, I broke my lil finger the same way! We'll have to compare at the Bash! They just splinted it and let it grow together goofy -it doesn't cause me any trouble. It looks a tad bit interesting on my fingernail polish blog!

Not really noticeable. I broke it skillfully so as to cause the least amount of $$$ to heal. It happened at school and apparently I have a high pain threshhold so when my 5th grade teacher saw it in a splint the next day she about sh@t herself.

Poor dear!

Good lord I have go it's almost time for Terri to come and there's still brekky fixings all over the place! xo
