Went out to eat with friends and all of our kids (8 of them all together) at the Bowling Alley outside of Amherst Jct. We had a really good time, and it was so much fun taking the kids bowling! We need to do that more often.....

When we came home I took the vet wrap off the little guy's foot just in case it was a little too tight.... I figure if it is sitting sleeping all night it should be ok. He hobbles around on it a bit.... I will know more tomorrow.

Just rumbles here so far..... it sounds like a good storm. Love a good lightning show!

It has been a long day.... on little sleep. Going to have a cook-out with the in-laws and my DH's sister and hubby and then go fishing on Poygan. I hope we actually catch something.....

Hey everyone.........
Finally got a few minutes to catch up..LOL more like an hour, 190 posts hehe you all been busy the last couple days yacking ....
Anyway we been fencing in the garden and trying to till and get ready to plant tomorrow, trying is the key word, because 16 hens are right up are butts, almost under the tiller........ boy if I could only get them to dig where I wanted them too..........I'd have lots of time to yack., I thought I was gonna loose a hen any second with her head chopped off by the tines......silly things.
Anyway my Del eggs I sent up to my GF's did not hatch.......zip, I have 8 eggs in the bator due Monday, so will see if my Roo isn't doing his job, something is wrong with my girls or my GF bator is broken, she candled them and said they looked like A QUARTER SIZE DEVELOEMENT, AND SOME WHERE OOZING A COUPLE DAYS AGO ALREADY.

What would cause them to quit so early? do ya think bator trouble or rooster trouble maybe? he is young and maybe I didn't give him time enough to practice doing hisi job well? will see come Monday. So 13 eggs N no chicks arggggggghhhh bah not happy about that will have to hatch another batch or go buy chicks from Jim......... cuz It's really looking like I will have none to trade.......why does it seem I'm not meant to have anymore Delaware hens... first my hen gets ripped up from the roo N quits laying so only 1 egg a day to fill up the bator, then the no hatch... WHAAAAAAAA what the he!! thiss is just stinky luck........
so anyway I better get to bed here soon, if I want my garden done b4 it gets 90 degree's and I hide in the house............. Nite all. Kim

Ghost, if the eggs started developing, then your roo did his job. If he didn't, the eggs wouldn't be fertile/no development. I have no idea why they all quit so early, though. Sorry. I hope your next hatch is better.

Well, we finally had a steady soaking rain down here this morning. It pretty much moved out before noon, but I did get sprinkled on a few times while out weeding this aft. I also got a lot of trimming done, especially around the river. That thing has just got to go! Not sure what I was thinking there.

Still have to get the veggie garden going, but don't think that'll happen tomorrow. Too stinkin' hot! Sounds like a nice day for a long bike ride. Hope you all have a great holiday, and sweet dreams, all!

CC, I told Marlene that I would sell her the chicks for $2 and then she could sell them for $3.. she didn't feel that it was right to make a profit off of me.. I will talk her into it, though.. she always treats me fair.. I didn't understand the river thing you mentioned.. but I am dead tired.. brain dead,,, need sleep..

we are in the middle of a good thunder storm right now.. Sat TV is out for awhile...

good bit of news.. the first peahen egg is pipped.. hope it doesn't have any problems.. I have 8 eggs due on Sunday, (tomorrow)..

today the peacock let me brush against his tail without folding it and moving away.. He sure has come a long way from the wild bird he was when I got him ..

I think I will let the lightning pass before I jump into the shower..

Busy all day! Finally got the lawn tractor going so I could get all the compost moved!!!! Filled up the whole trailer! Son got the A/Cs in but he had to give me an hour long lecture about how it was going to cost so much to run!

Well, it would be less than a trip or 2 to the ER!!! DH was no help either!

D@mn... it's not JUST ME who needs it Neil dose not do well in heat either!

Sorry I've been so "bitchy" but I don't need lectures from my kids! I love him dearly but...

Well all I can say is Holy Cow !!!! Are we getting the rain and thunder right now !!! Constant thunder. I'm going to have to take an extra dose of sleeping pill in order to fall asleep tonight.

Not looking forward to the heat tomorrow !!!

After all of my time spent at the laundry mat washing the sleeping bags that we never used cause we didn't make it to the bash DH took them out of the truck yesterday and forgot to bring them either in the house or put them back in the truck. So they got all wet. Back to the laundry mat I guess !!! He likes to make work for me so I stay out of trouble i guess !!

We had Apple Pie Shots for dessert tonight. Taste a lot better after sitting for a few weeks. Yummy !!!

Ok, I'm falling asleep but still need a pill !!! Night all !! Oh and Jim, I remember now that you are on the West side. This was about 7 miles E of Wausau. The womans name is Reva. Don't know the last name.

WOW!

rumble, rumble, crack, boom most of the night! Never heard it roll and roll for that long, ever! My poor puppy

She would just settle down and try to go back to sleep and BOOM! Back on top of my head or under the covers she'd scoot. The "girls" seemed unscathed went I let them out this morning but they're back in now because it's raining again. Checked the rain gauge and we got 1 1/2" over night. Everything is full of water, EXCEPT the new coop

We thought we had insulated, sealed, caulked the old hunting shed up tight but you never know til it's put to the test.

I hope everyone had a safe night and will enjoy today (and stay cool

) and remember our lost heroes and loved ones tomorrow.

Ok, now hubby and I are going out to check the back forty and see how many trees got hit this time. Never fails. Every time a bad one rolls thru at least one of our big Tamaracks or White Pines gets blown apart. Good thing we are logging out next winter while we still have anything worth harvesting!

Good Morning All! The sun is just starting to peek through.

Need to hose off the sidewalk and picinic table before company and heat arrives. Glad we're planning a noon meal. Bf4m dang those chicks are cute! Bl4 hope your ducky is OK! That's sad about the chicks Jim. Crap happens. Dan that's what I did with the taters cut them and let them scab 2 days b4 planting. Their all doing very good! Have a couple of hills of cuc's that haven't popped yet if they don't today I'll replant them. Cind hope things continue to get better! Vic loved the soap box thingy! Got an inch and a half of rain and lots of thunder. That'll loosen up the soil. Have to leave the eggs in the nest boxes for the kids to find today.

Got the bedroom painted yesterday

It's so weird having one color on the walls, the swich plates on, and all the dressers back in there. Just the trim and the carpeting left in there. Then I can start on the other bedroom.

good pre cuppa morning,, we had about an inch of rain.. just perfect for the things that I did get planted, eh?

I have to check on a guinea egg.. It was zipped last night and it still is.. the late ones are always the ones with problems.. the peachick is holding steady.. I should have turned the egg with the pip toward the door..

If the garden is too wet, I think I will set up a new turkey / peachick brooder..

OK, brain is not awake yet.. cuppa will help that..
