Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

My goal too.... no barfing, so I will not eat the day of race. Of course I hear the Dirty Girl is more like a powder puff type of race.... a nice easement into the NEXT challenge my co-workers have thrown at me. I have a few nutcases who would like to do the Tough Mudder next Fall.....

I think YOU should join us in this venture BigFam.....

If anyone would care to see how insane this obstacle course/race is, here is the link.

http://toughmudder.com/about/

It supports the Wounded Warrior Project; the only reason why I would put myself through such torture.

I better hit the sack..... early day tomorrow.

You've got to be kidding. It says its in WI this year? Next year too? Not that would be something crazy to train for. But, Wounded Warrior Project,
thumbsup.gif

Yeah... It was held at Devils Head ski resort last year. A mere 15 min drive from my house. And no way will I do it. I do NOT like getting dirty. I do not like running through an electrical field for fun. But you girls have fun ;)

Aww, BigFam, where's your sense of adventure?

BL4, I took the little quiz on the site, scored 80 - Maybe Mudder. Huh. Only one more point and I'm Mudder Ready.

Hi All!

Apyl.... yep, I would wonder too if I walked into a house with 4 kids and it was neat and clean. Although kids should learn to pick up after themselves, but if it's too clean, you got to wonder what's important.

Amy... Love that "brushing your teeth while eating oreos" thing!
lau.gif
So true!

Cochinlover (CL) .... I know of a breeder in Delavan that has lots of breeds and one in Walworth that has Cochins I can look for their numbers. (I just have to dig for them
hmm.png
) Although getting them from someone on here would be great! We do do "bird trains" so we could work something out. How many and what type? I know allot of people here have bantams.

vicki.... LMO! You couldn't have seen those sweet innocent birds near your garden! They wouldn't do that! Enjoy your newly painted birds!

BigZ,,, Glad they got the well taken care of! Hope it didn't break the bank!

Cs.... Good Luck to your daughter and her team!

Twiz,,, awww so sorry, Not sure if I would tell the 5 yr old the cat ate it
sad.png

Bf4m.... Good luck on your run!

Jim... Nice to have help for such a big job!

bl4... I have a friend that did that "Tough Mudder" thing last year. She did great for her first time! Can't remember what she placed, but she was in the top 12% in the woman's div. I bet allot of people underestimated her.... she's about 5' (like me) and if she's 90 lbs. it's pushing it! She's in her late 20's and has been hiking and studding to be a geologist.

Well, one of the wounded hens died, I think she was paralyzed
sad.png
Of course it was one of the Ameraucana hens!
barnie.gif
I finally got a count of Jasmine's chicks too... I lost 2

Rudy got 2 tomato baths and doesn't stink too bad
idunno.gif
I think it helped that we caught it before it dried. Don't notice it in the house too bad... until you come in from outside!

Guess that's it..... Night All!

Good Morning Good People! Sittin here worrying about Bob normally he's waiting to come in. He's been losing muscle mass and feeling boney for a year or so. Old feller. I know one day he won't come back but hope it's not today. Apyl I impress people all the time. I impress upon them the fact that I don't care what THEY think! Vic that was hilarious about the painted chickens!

Gotta love the Innocent act. "I wasn't doin nothin" Bigz glad the water is flowin again! I figured that there would be some new wells goin in with the lack of snow. CS good luck to the team! Safe trip for all. Cind glad Rudy smells better! Jim sounds like the clean up is going well. Bf4me and Bl4 good luck on your run! Ditto on the wounded warrior! Personally I've shyed away from doing things that make me puke. I do some running myself. I run to the beer store then I run home to imbibe.

Going to Rapids with L this morning calling Sears to see if they have the washer L wants in stock will take the trailer if they do otherwise it's just to load softener salt, feed, and cat litter. Need to prune the maters I saw that the pole beans found the trellis yesterday. Better go let the kids out. Have a perfect day everyone!

The girls enjoyed the backyard tonight! DH mowed the grass in the side yard where they free range. In attempt to seed the yard, we let the grass go to seed so it was kind of tall compared to normal. The girls wouldn't venture to far into it, but are thrilled that it is short again.

Oldest daughter and I leave for Knoxville next Friday, so I have been busy washing laundry and cleaning house today. She and her all-girls U12 team are headed to Knoxville for AYSO National Soccer Championship games July 1-8. I am looking forward to the experience and watching them play, it should be a blast! I start packing tomorrow and gathering items to pack.

Lots to do and my time will be limited for the next two weeks...I will be pages behind!
Wow! sounds like lots of fun and a real adventure!!! Where do the "other" girls get to ride? front seat or back? Don't let them pick up any strange southern roosters!

I learned an important lesson today: Don't trust anybody.
Want to know how?
My beloved cat ate my australorp and my sizzle!!!

I was gone for 3 days, left my little sister to watch them, and come home with two dead babies! I mean, of course, they are just chickens xD But now I have to explain to a 5 year old that her chicken has died. Silly kitty.
awwwww, so sorry. Yeah, they are just chickens but they are living things that were in your care. Poor baby. It is the cycle of life but that's a hard lesson for a little 5 year old.

checking in.. the adjuster came today.. nice fella.. going to give some $$ for the tree removal etc.
some thing for the wrecked siding and electrical work..

later on two favorite nephews showed up and in no time had all the brush picked up and all the logs cut into firewood.. all I had to do was drive the tractor and dump load after load of brush onto the burn pile..

I thought that my sister was going to send some of her boys out to help, so I pruned the 3 black walnut trees in the yard.. we didn't get those branches picked up.. I can do it at my leisure, I guess.. DD#1 said she could come out on Sunday and help,, that would be nice..

I took a pan of maple sawdust and did hamburgers on the grill.. that smoke sure adds aroma, if nothing else.. I had hamburgers for lunch and supper..

we had just enough rain to keep it from drying out around here this afternoon..

I have a gosling in the incubator and another one well on it's way out of the egg..

Marlene has 30 guineas to pick up and Dan has about 20..

our chickens are laying up a storm.. 24 eggs today.. we penned one hen up that Annie caught eating an egg.. she has not laid an egg in about a week.. I told Annie that it must be eating the egg as soon as she lays it... truly, I don't think she is laying any eggs.. so much easier to "off" her.

my test bed of carrots, and radishes is doing just great.. the lettuce did not germinate much..
I would like to build about a dozen of those raised beds.. I weeded this one in about 5 minutes today.. actually were not many weeds to start with..

........jiminwisc...........
morning Jim

glad to hear everything is turning out well with all your storm issues. Yep, we got about a 1/4" out of the rain yesterday ourselves so no watering here either. I wish I were brave enough to start incubating my own eggs. Maybe next spring. I have to start asking around about an older Aussie or Wyandotte pullet to add to my little flock. The Swap was a real bust for me for that. What I would really like is a Buckeye or Chantecler but I know that probably won't happen. I went raised beds with my garden next to the house several years ago in anticipation of the time when I wouldn't be able to crawl around at ground level anymore and I LOVE it! Wish now I had done more.

I really need to get to bed. In non chicken related matters, I am running in a quarter marathon tomorrow. It's in Milwaukee, so I have to leave by 4 am. That means 3:30 alarm with a snooze or two. I am not even close to being prepared for it, but I'm going to run and walk it. I will finish that 6.55 miles, and NOT throw up.
wink.png
My daughter in law and friends are running in that one too! Good luck and have a great time!
