newbies!

TO, I picked up a 2010 VW Jetta Diesel with 43K miles on it.Salsa Red, so I better behave on the roads or the po-po will be after me!

Driving my mom to Tomah tomorrow so she can catch the train to Minneapolis. She is going to spend the week with my brother babysitting for him. I hope she remembers to bring her camera since both my brother and his wife are terrible about taking pictures of their kids and putting them up for all of us to see. I have not seen my nephew since we went out there for Christmas.

No more duck issues so far (knock on wood)

Pretty boring evening here; visited with the neighbors for a bit and then put in The Emperor's New Groove. Ready to pass out now. Catch you all later.

Hi all, it was a strange day.. tiny drops of rain fell almost all day, but you could stand out there for an hour and not get wet.

had two goslings hatch.. sent 32 guineas home with Marlene and 20 went home with Dan..

had a lady come look at the last puppy today.. she does want it, but not until the end of July when her brand new barn is completed.. she bought some alpacas from Dan, and he brought her here to see the puppy.. she also wants some Royal Palm turkeys, sebastopol geese, guineas, chickens and and and,,, I had to look at her twice to make sure she didn't have a wooden leg.. all of these animals she wants after the barn is completed... she just moved up here from Chicago..

My Blazer is fixed,, it was not anything to do with the fuel.. the wire on the coil was bad.. had to buy a whole set of wires to get the one we needed..

tomorrow I think I might whack off the stump of the maple tree flush to the ground.. then dump some charcoal on what is left and burn the rest to below grade.. Plowing snow should be a lot nicer without that tree in the way.. there is a bright side to everything, eh?

DD#1 bought me a B&D 1600 electric high pressure washer at a rummage sale.. $5.oo the water fitting on the pressure outlet has to be replaced.. it turns out that the replacement part is no longer available.. prolly because it was poorly engineered and so many of them broke off.. who ever thought of making threads out of aluminum ?? I think I can manufacture one.. I just have to come up with the proper sized threads..
I tried to fix the part with JB Weld, but it could not take the pressure of tightening the thread into the hole..

Hi All!

DrH... Hope Bob shows up! Hard wondering about them, especially when they're gettin' old.
hmm.png
That must have been an odd sight with all those baby robins and turkeys!

Amy &TO... I'll try the peroxide and baking soda on him. Thanks! Good to know it works! BTW... I might be a man! LOL
lau.gif

TO... Congrats on the "down sizing"!

Jim... Congrats on the big sale! Hope she come back for all that! From Chicago ha? Has she ever raised animals/livestock? She could be in for allot more than she thinks!

Cochinlover...I couldn't find the number of the guy in Walworth that has Cochins.(I found 4 straw people, 2 garden plant people, 1 with fencing and a few others I forgot what they had! LOL
lau.gif
) I did find the Guy in Delavan that has lots of breeds and might be able to find some Cochins. PM me if you want his info. He's a "Key Leader for Poultry" for the Walworth Co. Fair. I got 7 chicks from him this spring.

Prettyboy has been such a good daddy! He has been roosting in the rafters by the inside coop door for most of his adult life. Well, Jasmines babies have taken to the rafters and Prettyboy relinquished his spot to them!
love.gif
Guess he figures they're safer there. He's also is the last chicken in the coop and makes sure everyone is in before dark! George is not as protective or watchful and is more interested in "jumping" the hens than watching out for them.
hmm.png
He even tries to mount them when they're trying to to eat! If I have to get rid of one... guess who stays!

Guess that's it.... night all!

vicki.... I need your addy... do you want them cheap or fast?

Sorry I haven't been on. I had to go evaluate a horse for a friend, then go back the next day and evaluate the horse on another matter.
I also had to trim my nieces pony for a parade tomorrow, I get to lead the pony about 3 miles.. ACK!!
th.gif

Then get 3 horses ready to ride as I get paid to be chief groom and bottle washer!!
I am nannying again this summer, so after my niece's mom comes home I have to go get the horse I was evaluating for him, keep him over night and
sneak him in on Tues so his wife won't know it right away.

So I am finally tired and can go to bed.
Nighters All

Morning all!
Dogs got me up at 5:30! I just made some coffee and got my day started. I can sleep in more in the winter right?

Cind0 Was the guy down in Walworth Dale Weelock by chance? If so, I/DH has his number (if your interested Cochinlover). If it's not Dale, then he will know who the man is you are thinking about.....

BL4-Sounds like you got a nice car!!!

WCc-sounds like your going to have some fun! Sneaking in a horse....

Well, best get the animals taken care of and the garden and flower bed watered. Later!

Good morning all

Just had to share.

I just finished standing on my back porch, coffee in hand, leaning on the railing, watching 2 wild turkey hens and a jake (?) just off the edge of our "yard" area out in our field with 2 broods of about 10 chicks or so in each, maybe 2 weeks apart in age, drying off in the morning sun while the babies did their best chasing grasshoppers (which unfortunately we are just overrun with this year). It was so cute watching them jumping up and down and crashing into one another while the moms stretched and preened. Then the moms decided it was time to go, gave a call, and they all went slowly parading off toward the woods. Had another 1/4" of rain around 5 am but now it is just warm beautiful. What a great way to start a Sunday morning. Thank you Lord!

Ok, had my day off yesterday when we drove to Menominee for a granddaughter graduation party held along lake Michigan. Too bad the weather wasn't great but it was still nice. Now it's back to work, that is as soon as it dries off a little more. Weeding and coop cleaning on the menu for this morning. It has been so wet here that my oat straw mulch is sprouting all over the place! Up side is the girls just love the stuff
smile.png
Speaking of the girls, they saw (or heard?) the turkeys and dove for their coop!

Got to go gather eggs now, have a great Sunday every one!

Cool pictures that everyone is sharing!

Welcome to the new ones joining our flock

Hope those of you that received all the rain are starting to dry out, we could sure use some here by us, we have been watering the garden every night and plants are starting to slowly come up.

Went and picked up a couple new trees yesterday to replace the bing cherry tree that didn't make it, also added a Stella Cherry and a Methley Plum. Picked up another blueberry and a concord grape plant to. Thinking I'd like to go back and pick up the Stanley Plum tree there too!

Off to get more things done today, have a good one

Good late morning! I finally dragged myself out of bed at 9:20 this morning...I had such a headache I could hardly move. I think Ijimxed myself talking about migraines with my daughter yesterday. Just the smell of her eggs this morning was about enough to make me sick! It is finally subsiding now...I bought some premixed Margaritas at the store last week and dh made us one. Really, only one and I got this headache...I really do think I am allergic to tequila!

So BL4--that car sounds great! DD26 just bought a red car too...I LOVE a red car! Who cares if they get pulled over more often? At least people can see you! LOL! DH said he loves that diesel Jetta too. We drove one on our honey moon forever ago...funny he didnt like it then.

We were talking this morning and DD told me what she saw out he window this morning at 6:30...a long haired cat ran under the windmill...followed by a FOX! No idea why a fox would be following a cat...she said they were about the same size. Maybe they are buddies drinking "kitty cocktails" in our gazebo at night? Well, I think I now know what has been getting my call ducks! Great--I have never had any luck trapping fox! I guess I am NOT a fox whisperer...Now Vicky, I would much rather she had told me the site you saw this morning! That must have been a very nice start to your day for sure! I am surprised that my turkeys have not lured in any wild ones here...I see them around but never in my yard...easy meals, wonder what's up? (maybe they know about the fox?)

Shoot...it is after 11 already and here I sit in my jammies...guess those critters are pretty hungry outside! Better run! Terri O
