Got really really behind in the reading, caught up now. Made it thru Hades and lived to tell about it. We have one window AC unit upstairs and it filters down to make the rest of the house tolerable. Got a bit of rain the other morning and the garden is putting on growth by the millisecond I think.
Good news/bad news....GN 12 guineas hatched under their mama a week ago. BN Something got in the pen the next day (I suspect coon) and killed the daddy guinea. I learned guineas are mama's you don't mess around with. Took a couple hours to round her and all her kids up into the large dog crate. Am very glad guineas don't have sharp beaks. Fierce lady. I think I will keep them contained another week and then turn them loose, since I got them to eat ticks in the woods after all.
The pond is about 85 degrees and primed for algae growth.
Been fighting that off and swimming here and there. Julie brought over kids and call ducks last night for a paddle. That sure was fun to watch, swimming with banty ducks. We'd set them up on the black inner tubes out in the water and they'd walk around the ring, then plunk back in and preen preen preen. I've chased my big ducks into the pond and they leave when I walk away. Dodos.
Dan, ahh, Country Store and Tremblay's. Nothin' finer.
vicki, I think I'll take you up on those chives.
