Morning all!
The Girls are all well and soon it will be time to introduce the young pullets into the flock. I'm toying with selling some of the younger ones now or I might wait till they get to POL. I can't make up my mind and I'm not sure if I even want to sell some of them. Do I want one of each breed, two of each breed or just keep them all. That would be 17 chickens when they are all laying and I don't think I want that many.....*sigh*

The rabbits are doing well. I need to clean cages and the Doe Domicile today. I also am planning on a trip to Mad City. Need to go to Costco. Yuck.

Made some more blueberry jam yesterday. Can't wait to try it!

Tiki-I remember when I was in HS the typing lab/class got new computers when I was in 9th grade. The teacher was so happy to get rid of the old type writes. I remember those old cell phones. Do you remember that they needed a brief case sized battery case to go with them? And the pagers were huge and sounded like the fry buzzer at McDonalds!

Bl4-I agree with Jim. I was going to suggest the you hold back the permit fee as a bargaining chip and use the penalties part as a consention. (sp). The revocation of license part I don't really like since that would make it too easy for a mean neighbor to use just because they don't like their "chicken" neighbors dog, car, kids, house color, BBQ parties that they aren't invited too, etc. You get the picture. I think the revocation should be a review process. Where both parties have to state their cases in a letter and submit any evidence to support why the chickens have to go or why the chickens are not a nuisance and the mean neighbor is just being a big old mean dunder head.

Went to the movie last night. After the drive to the Dells, sitting through a movie, and the drive home... I was white knuckled and fighting tears my back hurt so bad! I broke down and called my mommy for drugs ( she's a nurse, and as extras laying around LOL). By George, I love laying on my back as much as the next gal, but not for THIS reason ...

Better go. I'm NOT gonna be late for the chiro!

Good morning all---gonna be a warm one again! My little AC unit is running already. I figured I might as well get the house a little cool while the night air is still in here. DD20 just got back from Madison. She threw out her back yesterday petting the dog of all things! She may be lying in the recliner all day....wait, that isnt all that unusual! LOL!

Nothing much has happened since I wrote last night...I havent checked my trap yet and I didnt go out and hunt the fox this morning either. I do have to get moving on all that...I have to be at work at 9:30 to clean a house. I hope she has her AC cranked! FIne if you arent moving around but if you are hauling ***** cleaning ya need the air!

Sheesh I am getting tired sitting here --wish the coffee would do it's work! DD is watching True Blood and a little husky puppy was barking on the show; all of our dogs started barking at the tv! They are so funny about that kind of thing! I guess they think that they are a threat to us...

Cind--glad you found homes for almost all the kittens--I hope you educated them good about spay/neuter! I swear...with all the kittens in the world everyone could have 5 or 6 and there would still be more to care for! OK--feeling like I am going to start to "sleep type" at any moment! I better get outside and get the critters fed and get off to work...actually, I just wanna stay home and recoup from the fair!

I have a close to laying hen that is making so much noise that i may have to cull her. That will leave us with only 2 chickens

Off to City Hall I go...... I will be leaving my Ordinance proposal at home. I would rather the board dram up something themselves, but right now all I really want to do is educate them and have them ask me questions that they would like answers to. I do not want them to vote on this next Monday, it will fail for certain.

Dr. H - lol When I was a kid my cousins and I went riding our bikes thru the flooded ditches, my mom told me not to come home muddy head to toe so I got hosed off before coming home. lol Well she didn't think it was funny so I ended up grounded for a week.

Cindy - lol yup those are puddles, I know it was hard to remember what they looked like lol , oh and I if I have my hose on outside I get no water in the house , but we also have a shallow well.

Jim - Sorry the hear about the bad morning, good luck with the tractor.

MLH - I jelous of your blueberry jam, our blueberries are shot this year. What the drought didnt ruin the chickens ate.

Good Morning everyone. Boy it was nice to sleep in. Didnt get up til 8:30 It's so peaceful now, I guess I needed that 2 week visit from the step-kids to help me appreciate what I have Anyway I let the girls out this morning and found another egg in the middle of the coop floor. This time I believe it came from my Ancona, she and the Barred Rock was the only ones looking ready to lay. I do have a Lakenvelder that has a comb thats pinked up but I'm not seeing the squatting or searching like the other did. It's all good though, now that I finally got my first eggs I can be patient lol. Now I'm wondering when the Ducks will start laying. I know the dominant male is trying to mate like crazy. Well I guess thats about it. I should probubly go do dishes. I hope every has a great day.

Double, triple, D@m D@m D@m!!! Stupid me forgot to put the top down on one of my broody pens last night, and I went out to carnage.

Two good mamas and their 2 chicks - one was my purdy Sumatra. #%!?&%#!@?$%&@!!?%&!#&!?#!%$!! Yes, those were real words, woulda made BigFam blush! I bet its a coon, I've had the livetrap set for 5 days and haven't caught anything except a chicken, but it was set off one morn and the trap overturned. 7 birds now lost, I will not feel one iota of remorse when I off this critter.

Kristi P had a silkie chick that hatched out from the bator at my house, I had no other chicks so I grabbed a jaerhon rooster chick who is about 6 weeks old, and he did great with the silkie.
She found a chick in Stoughton and I brought it home to be buds with the silkie, so it has all turned out great, and the rooster is back with his age mates.


I got a job.. YES a real job, I am now a sales assc. at Advanced Auto parts... part time, but hey its a job!

My chickens are doing well, I have four hens that are being broody now.. sigh

and the chickens are moulting so egg production is down, but they are all happy and healthy now!

CS the pullet may just be making noise until she settles in to a regular egg laying schedule, but then again you still do have noise.

Amy so sorry for your losses.

I have a premise ID to sell, show etc. It doesnt seem like a big deal to me. The state doesn't have much time to monitor it anyway. So it is what would you say moot (mute) ? point mostly to even have it but I fill out the paper work to show or when I go to a swap.


I musta forgot everything else I was going to say. I remember as a kid watching the news and the first computer was featured~it took up a whole room and boy was it a big deal.
