Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Judge, I think I am the only nut from the 'North' who is going to the southern bash..... Cind will have to give me an idea of what size the roo is so I can plan ahead and pack a cage of some kind.....

Judge, we hold a bash in the early summer/late spring for all of us the have a good get together. We camp for a few days at a campground not too far from Clintonville. Plan on being there the entire time, and bring the spirit of your choice!

Hi All!

DrH... We've been trying to get a "pro" (at least someone who knows more than us) to come take a look and figure out the best way to install it. Hoping we can tie it into the boiler. I told DH better hurry up and do something!

Hope you find your hen safe.

Amy... Cool pics.... glad you had a nice time!

Bl4.... glad you survived!

judge... Here is the link to the "southern bash" https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/685455/southern-wi-cheesehead-mini-bash] Check it out if you like. We can do a "chicken train" if you like. I can work with the roo's a little and pick one out that seems "nice". There is one that likes to fallow me around a bit and likes when I talk to him.

The guinea mom only has 2 left and finally decided the coop was safer than the brush. The lavender one came back with no young. And the one I thought came home with young is sitting on eggs in the asparagus patch so I guess I was wrong. Haven't seen the white one for over a week now.

Everything else as as good as it has been.... same old, same old.

Great lovely morning to all!  (at least down here it is nice/not cold!) Yes AngieB it is the Ivomec that you use that way. Supposed to be pretty good too.  They do caution that if this is your first worming to use Wazine first to paralyze the first wave of the worms so you dont get too many dead in the system at a time.  THat is for a heavy worm load though; I dont know how old your birds are....

My birds are all molting right now...I think it is coming to a close finally.  I had to laugh when you said you pick up the feathers BigZ!  I would be out there all day!  It actually looks like it snowed feathers here.
Judge--both of my banty roos are in with the big girls in a pen.  They really dont bother each other at all.
I am sorry about Shandy MXM!  I know how much you worried and tried with her...If you need a replacement I have some...and I think Cheryl also said she has her sister.  Cant let any opportunity for chicken enablement to slip past!
Dan you are a funny guy...and I might add that your mind is like a steel trap! I find it so hard to believe that you can catch those coons with bread of all things! That is amazing...I am sure I would only catch skunks...LOL! There was something else that I wanted to comment on (that you said) but cant remember now...all the people are waking up and talking to me.  DD is home with her BF from college. I thought we were all going to a wedding together today but now I have been informed that the men and DD and her BF are going to the Badger game.  Guess it's just me and DD26...now if I can find where it is!

Well, I better get moving here...have a fantastic day!  Terri O

Terrio...you were talking about the invoked...that is the wormer that is good for using that you can still eat the eggs? Is this something you can find at farm and fleet? Or is there something better to use?
If there is one that is easier to use, but you can't eat the eggs, how long? Thinking it is time to do that a...

Not having much hope of seeing her again. BFF called me from out back to bring out his truck. He got a nice 2-3 yr old doe. B4 he went back out in the aft I told him to kill a big buck in the woods. It works. I allow him to shoot one doe a year the rest have to be bucks. Maybe the yotes/fox will be happy with the gut pile and leave my chickens alone.

Jim sometimes it really helps to just walk away. Glad to hear things are coming together so to speak.

How did Dora/Nora handle seeing the boys again? Told Laura that this might be the last day of 80's that we'll see this year. Boy FT must really have a lot of canning to do or is really PO'd. BE4me My step brother and I once got a sunday school teacher fired for swearing at us.

Don't know who started laying but I'm getting a poult egg now. I've gotten the same number of eggs 2 days in a row. That again would be the number between 5 and 7.

I don't think my parents really thought the marriage through. 2 boys 2 months apart in age. Oh the stories they have. Many were very very bad! Seemed like fun at the time.

Just finishing up frying some bacon and sausage for future consumption then heading out to build Donny some nest boxes. Gotta make nests while the sun shines!

A little sore this AM but nothing too horrible.... so I must be in better shape than I think; just don't have the endurance to actually RUN the entire 5k.....

Sitting here with a furball in my lap enjoying my coffee. Have to run out and get a b-day gift for a birthday party, then I need to take the younger DD out for clothes.

Processed some tomatoes this am..... with only 6 plants it takes me a while to get enough to actually do something with. I have a lot of the yellow ones on the plant that need to ripen yet..... I hope they will be ready for the bash so I can get opinions on the sweetness.

Enjoy the day everyone! It is beautiful out there!

ok I am going to type my post and then try pictures because it keeps locking up when I try to post pics.

We have baby chicks again! Well one right now. So we gave my broody BO 6 eggs. one silkie, one mystery(was a dud) and 4 d'uccle from my neighbor ( whom I just added the other three d'uccle I got from him).
So the silkie was due Monday and the d'uccle Wednesday. Well the silkie was piping last night and popped out during the night/morning and it is a cute white one. no clue what mixes we will get with the d'uccle. Hoping for a black mottled as I love the one we have.

it worked. Ok here are my new d'uccle:
One pic is my black mottled hen, one show my own mille fluer pullet with the new blue mille fleur pullet and one pic is the porcelein rooster( 3 months old) They black mottled and the roo are moderately friendly but we will be working with all three. Our own is super sweet so hoping these will be too!
