make sure the area is clean- no dirt on the red tissue- could possible use a saline solution-like a soft contact lens solution. you will have to carefully attempt to push it gently back in. If the other chickens notice it they may start picking at her. I would put her in her own pen by herself and see how she does for the next few days and if the tissue stays in- maybe keep her dark so she doesn't lay eggs and push it back out again. good LuckI need help and any info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
My red star Grace has what I think is a prolapsed vent. She has been looking a little rough for awhile, but acts completley normal. Today when I was out there she pooped and I saw this huge red tissue thing hanging out of her butt. It was the size of a plum, and did not go back in. What do I do with that, and will she get better?![]()
