Good Morning Everyone! Jim you were close nearly went out to split after getting most of the stuff loaded for up nort. Leaving around 1:30. Wasn't on this AM cause I heard a pop yesterday, it was my puter on the laptop now. Don't like it one bit! It's different and you know how old people are about something different. Donny is in Marshfield again getting another cat scan. They don't know the extent of the cancer or if it's even operable yet. He gave me his wood pile 2 months ago and the chickens a week ago before even knowing what was going on.From what I've read it's pretty much a done deal, just a matter of time. From what he told me it sounds like stage 4. All we can to do is hope that he's the exception to the rules. He's IS to so many. Cind my criteria is male, short haired, black and white. The one that catches my eye is the one with the white chest, male by chance? Vic glad SF went in her sleep.

Have a few more things to do won't be back on till Sunday at the earliest. Have a good I know we will!

Kim, Annie traded nights last night because the other woman had a "migrain" .. those seem to pop up regularly with those women down there.. anyhoo she will be home this weekend..

It would be great if Adam could come.. this is supposed to be a super weekend, weatherwise..

there is no heavy work left to do.. now all we have to do is get that #1 piston into firing position and start the motor.. He has to pick up his tools also.. unless he wants for me to keep them ??

Now that all the other dogs are gone, Dora has become quite domesticated.. she even comes, most of the time, when I whistle..

all but one of the five new baby cockatiels have left the nest.. we have 7 babies and 5 adults..
AND, the mother bird has started laying eggs (1) again, already.. Annie said that she is going to throw the eggs away.. however, it is still in the nest.. she cusses every time the two do their little song while they mate..

Afternoon All
Wow you chatty people! I have 4 pages to read! So Got the does all in their new abodes and I have to say they were good during transport! Even the kicky Champagne, Maggie didn't get me this time!! They are none to pleased. They were quite happy being in their community pen. Dimitri is especially happy to have a new bigger cage! He looks like a little peanut in it!
The Girls are having way to much fun with the new shavings and straw combo in the coop. They are quite the little excavators! I have a feeling I'll be hunting for eggs soon!
When I went in the coop yesterday, Super Glue gave me a scare! I thought "Oh no! She is sick! She laid an egg!" But nope. She didn't. She was messing around with one of the Orloff's eggs. So I got a grand total of 3 eggs yesterday. That's one up from the usual 2.....Geez I need to start reading recipes..... I honestly think SG has forgotten how to lay or that she is a hen...Stupid Bird....Tell me again why I love Aseels so much.......

I need to get shavings to finish out the "new" small chicken digs in the basement, but my truck is loaded with feed. So. I'll have to wait till DH gets home from the dentist and then I can snag the car.

Vicki-Sorry to heard about Stirfry.

You gave her a great life and she is in a better place. As far ts the little one Noodle, my 2 cents is meat bird type (Cornish) or maybe a White Plymouth Rock (cross?) possible a white Wyandotte but not likely. Noodle looks hen-ish to me.

DrH-Sorry to hear about Danny. I will send a little prayer his way...

Cind-OMG! Total cuteness on the kittens!! I will ask DH about the poster! and see if he can snag extras....

My mom's angora rabbit had 5 babies yesterday. I think they are German x French, but not 100% sure. Sounds like there are some sables in there. They will be for sale if anyone is interested. She has the pedigrees.

MLH~ boy, I hope you are right that Noodle is a hen! Hubby says "if it's a roo, we eat it. After all, isn't that what they're supposed to be for?" I just looked at him and smiled. Yep. Good luck with that one hubby

First time I make sure he sees me holding my precious little Noodle on my lap stroking "his" comb, hubby is a goner! Oh, and I'll make sure he sees my sad eyes and and wistful gaze and mr. "Noodle is soup" will be toast! That's why I love him. So intelligent, so sweet and yet sooooo clueless. After all these years he still clings to the delusion that he's in charge

As for what breed Noodle might be? Meat bird is out. There are no meaties in my neighbor's flock. Her only 2 roos are one handsome Lakenvelder (pretty sure). She got 3 pullets at a father's day swap 2 or 3 (?) years ago and they snuck him into the box with them. Noodle's markings look just like the hens she got. The other roo she has is pure white, younger roo, but have no idea what it is. She has no clue what breed any of her chickies are. They are are real hodgepodge including 3 or 4 from the same place mine came from. A couple of others were given her by a friend after she lost I forgot how many to a weasel.
