Congrats on all the hunt successes. I am one of those weird wisconites who does not like venison. I ate it as a kid, I hunted and shot a deer as a kid and since than I can't eat it. I have had it several ways and my mind simply will not allow me to enjoy it. We raised and showed goats and the taste and smell was so similar I eventually could not eat that either. Funny how the mind works.

Well i walked for miles and saw 4 coyotes, several turkeys, 2 cats, 8 cardinals, a few bunnies and squirrels, 4 screaming hawks and 5 deer that were too far to shoot

Went out to land we have been hunting with my dad since we were kids. He always talks with the farmers and has been going to the same land for at least 20 years. We know it like it was our own, but there was nothing we could do I guess. Oh well- tomorrow we are hunting my land so hopefully we can get something-it's been awhile since we didn't have a few deer by the end of the weekend.

Sometime after lunch, DD's BF shot a nice doe, so the tally was 3 deer at the in-laws place. I hope tomorrow my DH can get his tag filled. Of course, the kids have doe tags to fill yet and my FIL too..... so there is the potential of 8 deer (10 if you count the BF) getting shot. Stranger things have happened......

Glad I dug up that pie crust recipe Angie and TO, have either of you tried it yet? My MIL was wondering if I could find a GF pie crust since she thought she would like to have a pie or two for thanksgiving that my BIL could eat. I told her she must have been reading my mind since I had just found that recipe and was tossing that idea around myself!

Since I will be the homebody tomorrow, I think I will get the Christmas lights out and maybe up. Temps of 55 at the end of November are so nice for procrastinators!

Sounds like quite a few of you will have some nice meat for your freezers! Congratulations! Has anyone gone as far as to figure out what the price per pound of venison ends up being? I always wonder how much it is when you factor in everything...I suppose you cant buy it so it doesnt matter anyway...

I just kept telling myself there is a big deer hanging and this is a small deer dont shoot, which turned into how close is this fool gonna get before he sees me. finally I could not take it any more and whispered go away or die. He almost turned himself inside out trying to figure out where I was and which way to escape, he ran off about 25 yards and stared back at me for a couple minutes.[/FONT]

Boards went well, added more letters (DACVS-SA) to the DVM. Feels good to not have that hanging over my head anymore.

I've got Iowa Blues, lovely plucky little birds, love them. A couple more shots below.

Great to see you guys again, truly I am still alive. Just been a hectic summer.

No deer here. DH ET saw a doe this morning but didn't shoot. I asked why not and he said cause it's opening day.... Last year he filled all of his tags first thing. I think he likes sitting up in that tree stand everyday ... good excuse to get out of here !!!

that's the way to do it. I think DH thinks along those lines sometimes.

Wonder if he will even see many.... heard from a neighbor that the surrounding neighbors have really put out the food...... I hate that !!! Greedy SOB's...... not to many of the neighbors up here do things the way they are suppose to .... legally anyway. DH ET doesn't believe in what they are doing but since all of the neighbors are related and we are surrounded we keep our mouths shut !!!

Feeling real punky the last few days. Hoping tomorrow is better. Have the chills, broke out into a cold sweat. Took temp and only 97.4.... maybe I'm dying and don't know it !!! LOL

Guess I don't have a life either. I clicked on that kitten video several times. Now I can see why you want more then one kitten Doc !!
