The heat could also be from infection...especially since you said there is a smell to it...are you treating her with any type of antibiotics? I hope she recovers soon....poor girl...

Just read your post. I hope she's doing better. I only have a few birds and one was very ill. I had a very good vet come over and treat her. She got better, only to get bad again months later. I had him come over and give her a shot while I was holding her. I don't have it in me to cull them myself. I would never get over it. But that's just me. I'll be praying for you. I remember what that was like, and I would give anything to have her back. Good luck......prayers are with you.
