Witnessed A Vandalism CLOSE-UP (UPDATE Post# 116)

Ditto. Live and let live is fine by me, the only encounter I had was with a couple from California who claimed to be Vegans were working at the same Midwest jobsite I was at. They saw me leaving work one day in my full length leather duster and leather outback hat and said rather derogatory to me "How many cows died to make that coat?". Without pause to think, I said "All of them". The expression on their faces-----priceless.

Oh, enjoyed the thread LauraJean.

@ Cows.

Next time say all of them. A couple had to be whacked a few times with a board because the electrification didn't kill them the first three times.

I just read your update message on post 116. It sounds like the boys had bitten off more than they could chew. Since they're going to criminal court my best suggestion would be small claims court. Get your neighbors to each file a case. It might be a headache to due but might be worth it. Or you could call the parents and see if they can compensate you.

I would be interested in reading why you stopped eating meat.

I was reading the new dirtiest foods list, and while meat is on there(ground beef and turkey and chicken) I was suprised to see things like cantelope! The article started off talking about a healthy 38yo PA guy who died a month after eating hepA laden green onions on his meal from Applebees(sp?) Sad. We eat many of the items listed. The way I look at it pretty much everything we buy is germy, and you need to soap them up and cook them well to lessen your risks. Ugh,not very appetizing!

I have found a lot of good non-meat dishes by looking into recipes from other coutries.

When we had cable I enjoyed watching that bizarre foods show, where the guy ate local foods from all over.Pickled(rotted) meat, blood straight from an animals neck, fried bugs to name a few. Now, I will admit one time at a park bugfest for kids we did try brownie bugs, and fried crickets.

It is to bad the boys are not required to give atleast $20 per mailbox. I don't think that is to much. The parents should pay it then collect from the kids. Parents around here get in trouble if their kids don't go to school(fines and jail time),so it seems like the parents should have to pay for their kids crimes too.

Again, your mailbox painting is nice.If we had money to splurge I would order one from you,but it would go in my garden to hold hand tools!

HH -- if I still ate meat, that's the way I'd go. Farm raised, farm butchered. It's the factory farms which have tarnished both the relationship we should have with animals and our food.

Darkmatter -- Hilarious response! See obnoxious, judgmental remarks like the one from those vegans serve no purpose. If those vegans own a dog or worse a cat...they are needing someone to raise and butcher animals to adequately feed their pets. Why not wear what's left over?. We chose to avoid buying leather, but as long as cows are being butchered, PLEASE use as much of the animal as possible!

(Thanks for lending us your thread, Laurajean!)
