Witnessed A Vandalism CLOSE-UP (UPDATE Post# 116)

6chickens in St. Charles :

Well I was going to write that I'm curious "why do you have to decide to press charges or not?" if it was a federal offense THEY committed against GOVERNMENT property (the mail)? What does it have to do with you, who only witnessed it?

But lentils apparrently are the easiest, cheapest to produce, finest protein on the market. They come in different colors and flavors (French green lentils, Indian red lentils, etc).

Puppodums. Mmmmmm. microwaved and topped with jam.

See what happens when I begin reading a thread then skip to the last page?

To answer your question: It wasn't up to ME to press charges, they just wanted to know if all the residents on the road wanted them to press charges or just let them replace the boxes. They said the Post Office is who would decide if they wanted to press felony charges, since it's technically their property, but he said they never do. Also, in a later post I updated with the fact that the next day it was discovered that they went on a rampage across three towns that same night and by the next morning sixteen additional complaints had been called in with several witnesses IDing them. So they canceled the "offer" of replacing the boxes and just sent the kids to court, because all the damages totaled so much. So now it's out of our hands, and we didn't even get new boxes. That's the short version.

Right; vegans don't eat milk products or any animal derived products, but vegetarians do.

Protein is EASY! People always ask this question, but there are so many sources: Whole grains (especially quinoa), beans, lentils, legumes, soy products, nuts, seeds, many dairy products like cheese, yogurt (especially greek yogurt!), nut butters, good quality cereals, eggs, and of course meat substitutes. Every meat eater I know has the "I had a tofu dog once it it was awful", to which my answer is always "me too". They aren't all good, just like there are regular hot dogs that are awful too. Some of the meat substitutes are yummy, but the key is how they're prepared. I've been over well meaning friends' houses who hand me a plain veggie burger and of course it's awful. I dress up my food as much, if not more than the next person. I marinate, season, etc. I am a great cook too, I don't mind bragging. My father still thinks I actually go out and buy real meat when I make him my homemade chili. He has no clue it's vegetarian. Every time he devours it and asks for seconds I consider breaking the news to him, but I guarantee he would suddenly "un-like" it, LOL, so I don't tell. But even without those substitutes, there is PLENTY of protein to be had.

I actually tried a vegetarian dish in the frozen food section by accident. Amy's frozen foods. They are DELISH!!!!! Then I found out it is all organic too. I LOVE that line of frozen food, and I am NOT a frozen food lover at all. Besides Amy's, there are about 3 things that are frozen that I eat. Stouffers chicken fettucini, Stouffers beef tips and DiGiourno pizza. They rest is nasty.

Well, will they do vegan time or what?

That would be pretty funny. "Here kid, eat the veggie burger... EAT IT!!"

Oh, I love Amy's! I don't buy a lot of frozen ready made food either, but they do have some yummy stuff. Good mac n cheese, good mexican dishes. A lady started that company out of her kitchen because her daughter Amy had horrible food allergies. All natural ingredients, nothing weird. For frozen food, it is good!

I learned all that after I became addicted to the cheese enchiladas. That is a darned good dish for a frozen meal!!!! I rarely do frozen food. Too many years on weight watchers did me in with frozen meals. I would much rather cook and take that for lunch. I made biscuits and gravy this morning and saved the leftovers for my lunch.

there's a "Spinach and Soy Cheese Gluten Free/Dairy Free Frozen Personal Pizza" made by Amy's or something like Amy's. Sounds awful, but its delicious! Expensive, too, about $7 each.

IMO, the vandals should have to do time writing letters to each of their victims, explaining exactly what one does with puppodums. Misspelling puppodums could lead to further vegan sentencing.

I don't know, it was pretty traumatic, hiding from them, being frightened, pieces of mailbox hitting my head. I think they should go on meat probation for like a year. And every time they eat their vegan dinner they should be required to call all their friends and announce they're going to eat seitan, and when finished they must thank mom for the "wheat meat".
