Wonderful Wells Fargo

wheww! We were with them when they were south trust and whatever they were before that. Maybe we should be great-great-grandfathered in... BaHaHa, let's see how long THAT lasts.
I am surprised the banks and insurance companies just don't come to the house and hang us upside down shaking out spare change.

Every time my son cashes a birthday check there, they want him to open up a "savings account!' "Student checking account!"
It was a 25 dollar check! geesh, give him his money already!
It's like the stage coach is holding up the passengers instead of the bad guys holding up the coach.
We will probably move, and it is a shame because the people at the bank know us and the names of our dogs... some of them have lasted through all eight dogs... twenty years worth of dogs. That's a lot of dog snacks.
They should not have a logo that has guns and whips. Their sign looks like I should pull in for a rodeo burger and fries.
Gee. You all got me on this peeve, didn't you?

Is south trust the one that had a green logo? I remember my parents going there and I would get green suckers.

Then it changed to wachovia and now wells fargo

Whacovia had green suckers. South trust was just one of the ones eaten by Wahocvia.
...and I guess that means Wells Fargo is the biggest fish of them all!
Geesh. Definitely a personal peeve. We JUST had more checks printed too.
grumble, snarl , grumble...
How do you all feel about BB&T?

I gues I am a minority, but I bank with Wells Fargo and as long as I make a small $25.00/mo. transfer into my savings account I get no fees. I also bought a house last month and went through them for the mortgage. They had the best customer service in their home loan department that I have ever worked with. Everything that I needed and what they needed was right on my computer, my mortgage consultant was always available and very helpful. We closed our house within a month with absolutely zero complications.
Nothing is free, but when a bank will bend over backwards to service you, they will get my business.

I am glad you had a better experience with Wells Fargo, they weren't willing to bend over backwards for me they wanted me to do the bending over

Bank of A was the worst!

And who will be bailing them out? We ARE!

If they fail, they should get out of business or be bought out by another banking institution.

My bank is a local bank and they are charging small seven dollar fee each month if our account dips lower than $50....that's all right, because we are low income people and if it hurts us too much to lose that seven dollars, we can find another local banks. I have a feeling local banks will start imposing fees because they have to make money somewhere. Starting with US, the customers.

I have Wachovia, a Wells Fargo owned bank, and mine is totally free with no minimum balance.

I actually switched from BB&T to them because BB&T was going to start charging me $10/month for my "free" account.

Yup yup!!
We have the mortgage on one of our houses with Wells Fargo. Never a problem and great customer service.

For banking, we use a credit union and a small local bank that has free accounts. We used WAMU's, Free Checking for Life for our rental house but when Chase bought them out and decided to start charging a monthly fee, we went and closed the account. It was a sizable amount and they tried to talk us out of it. I am not going to pay someone for the privilege of using our money to make a profit.
