wondering on nice thin necks and long thin hackles

Sound's like you need hackle stock. If you want thinner necks I would cross hackle stock with modern's but that is going to affect feather density and distribution.

This pictures blurry but clearly shows the amount and hackle and saddles.

If they would go with good Barred rock stock and good Pheonix stock they will get long saddle feathers and hackles.
A good Barred Rock all ready has good length of saddle feathers and hackles feathers.

Yeah that is exactly what I was thinking I was going to do. Cross a nicely bred barred rock with a pheniox. It would take some work but I think that I could develope a nice hackle that in turn I could use to get different colors and what not. The trick is finding someone that either has the eggs or sells chicks.

Chris you have been a ton of help to me and I appericate all your help. To everyone else thank you as well, I would have no idea where to start if I wouldnt have gotten the help from you all. Thanks. Also if you have any more suggestions please let me know. If you know of other leads to nice stock I would love to know that as well. It will be a bit before Iget started due to me wanting to get more familuar with my incubator but hopefully before fall I will have something to play with all winter. I hope.
