I would leave out the pellets. They will eat them before the starve to death. No offense but yes, catering to them is being a pushover.

I will do that, that's a good idea.
I don't think feeding pellets to chicks is a good plan- chicks dont need calcium.
I am giving pellets that no one else will eat to my roosters who are penned separately. Especially the A$$hole one.

We dont get Purina or any of those brands here in Canada- at least not in any feed store Ive been to. Lots of local feed. I bought crumbles from another brand and mix them with the textured mash... they seem happy.

Chicks only need about 1% calcium in feed for development.
