Woo-hoo! I'm In Lockdown!!! PIC !

Congrats to you, and good luck! I have one that is almost through. She started to pip at 7 this morning, and is still trying to get out. It is so heart wrenching, I want to reach in there with a spoon and just crack the shell!! I know, I know, and I won't. She is still chirping loudly, and is now starting to use her legs to push. Makes some loud cracking noises when the shell breaks. Really fascinating to watch, just wish it didn't take so long. The other one is starting to start pipping again after a nine hour nap! She seems to be making faster headway than the first one. The other 10 are just sitting there, but I thought I heard more little voices, so we'll see. Gees, I'm worn out!

One is here, the other is zipping quickly, and another is rocking!! The chick that's hatched is running around like a crazy thing! She cuddles up to the egg that's zipping and yells at her!

This is awesome! I have never seen chicks get up and run before!

WOO-HOO!!! Two now in the brooder, two more pipping, and may have another one just starting to pip (either that or the 2 soccer players cracked it?), and I thought I saw another rocking!! Was up till 2:30 this morning, and then got up at 6:45. Here is a pic of the two babies so far. I think one is a pullet, the other a cockeral, we'll see!

That is awesome!! Can't wait to see pics of all your little ones. The 2 in the brooder are eating and drinking. Two are zipping, one I may have to help, it looks dry. I put a moist piece of paper towel on the membrane to freshen it up. One more has pipped, and I think I saw two more rocking. Hard to say, I'm so pooped I feel like I was partying all night! Don't know if it's them, or me rocking!

Go Debbi Go!!!! Love the babies! How can you tell the sexes? I've been reading up on it and looking and just looking at their feathers...I think I may have 2 or 3 roos...what is your technique for distinguishing between the sexes and have you been accurate? Anyone else have a technique? Can't wait to hear about how many fuzzy butts you end up with

You're gonna have quite a big flock when you're all done! How fun and exciting. I just adore my little babies...I find myself staring at them constantly, watching over them like a mother hen! Today, as I was cleaning the brooder, when I removed their water and food they were all trying to fly...flapping their little wings...it was the cutest thing ever! They are also already scratching the ground...it is cute. I just finished the wire on my coop today...and got the last side of it painted. We converted our multi purpose storage shed to accomodate a coop and fenced off part of our dog pen area for the coop. It turned out really cute. Have a wonderful day everyone...gonna go work in my yard for a little while and will check for updates later!

@ cattitude!!! I love that, I say that about all my cats when they are being brats!!! I am a huge cat fan...have 5 and several strays/ferrels that I feed. I just love animals period!!! Have a great day :0

I know the feeling debbi I haven't slept good for a while. I can't I have to get the chicks out of the incubator as soon as they hatch. We didn't realize it when we got it but the fan that was hooked up in the incubator doesn't have a gaurd on it and I have cut my knuckles on it several times. I couldn't imagine what it would do to a new born chick and don't want to imagine. Its a scary thought. We are going to make a wire gaurd for it as soon as we can it would ease my mind alot. I can just say I am exhausted because I have been having them hatch steady since the 23rd 1-4 a day. Im so sleepy lol..... I am so glad your hatch is going so good though I was feeling bad that I had some hatching and you were saying you had nothing not even one rocking I was really worried but now I am excited for you. Keep us updated and can't wait to see some more pics of your babies too!!!
