WOO HOO - My first split to lavender chicks - Pics added

After I sent the kids off to school this morning I checked the incubator and I have two little black chicks in there out of one of my lavender cockerels!!!

A third is cheeping. I am so excited!!!

I've only got a few eggs in there as my gals basically went on strike two months ago...... I've only made four sales since September on eggs and chicks.

I am getting around 4-6 eggs a day out of around 100 pullets and hens. We had a very hard molt this year and my new facility does not have electricity, so no artificial lights.

I am hoping to have lavender babies by late summer/fall.

Ok, here are two pictures. They are not fully fluffed yet.

And here is my new kitty, Tiki, getting lessons on how to take care of the "babies".

He had to be reminded that they were not for brunch!
