After I sent the kids off to school this morning I checked the incubator and I have two little black chicks in there out of one of my lavender cockerels!!!

A third is cheeping. I am so excited!!!

I've only got a few eggs in there as my gals basically went on strike two months ago...... I've only made four sales since September on eggs and chicks.

I am getting around 4-6 eggs a day out of around 100 pullets and hens. We had a very hard molt this year and my new facility does not have electricity, so no artificial lights.

I am hoping to have lavender babies by late summer/fall.
