Woods-style house in the winter

FYI--I found the book on amazon. I have been looking at coops for some time since I will be building another one this spring and love this coop. I ordered the book and am looking at my yard now to figure out where to place it. Love your coop JakeE and thanks for the pics. Could you post some inside pics for us?

Thank you so much for the link! I'm going to seriously consider this design for my new coop, I just love it.

A side note on the link: What an interesting glimpse into how we used to view poultry production and the needs/comfort of these flocks in the past. Such a far cry from commercial production now!

I love that book! Thank you for the link. Very interesting. I have a hard enough time getting my DH to keep the coop vents wide open, much less convincing him that the birds can live in open housing. I tell you, though, if we moved further south in GA, that is what I'd want, for sure!

Here's some pics of the interior. First a pic of the screen door. In warmer months, outside door is hooked open to allow more airflow.

Monitor windows that are opened when the weather is warmer. Metal straps are used to open and hold windows open.

My chickens don't like walking in the snow. They will peek out, And thats all.
