Work dilema

Is that one o' them books that stays hot just by having a little metal candle under it?
Or is it a stenographers notebook?

Ha, ha, just kidding Saddi. I couldn't resist.

You've received lots of good advice so far.

I know there have been lots of things going on in your life and you were sick for a while but . . .

and I'm going to be blunt.

1. Take responsibility for yourself and your actions.
2. Stay off BYC when at work, even at lunch. If you go on during lunch it will be harder to stay off the rest of the day.
3. If your memory is like mine then simplify and take notes, lots of notes, and in one place. If Outlook isn't working for you then do it on paper like the steno book Saddi mentioned.
4. Prioritize

As for the details and particulars, I really don't have to say at this time.

And a parting

because I care.

Unfortunatley I too find myself in your shoes from time to time....and I always wonder what the problem is because I find if I'm having a bad day, my boss or other co-worker is driving me nuts, family issues, what ever it may be I notice I tend to get off track a little more.

I have been with my boss for 4 years and the only time off work has been 1. when I had my daughter 2. kids are in the hospital 3. Im in the hospital.......I think I have only taken 1 day in the last 4 years for myself....so I scheduled a getaway (our first) for me and my hubby for April of next year and I have something to look forward to and I know if I work hard I get a bonus that will help us go on our trip so that helps me keep on task!

I have to tell myself every day Stay on task dont get on the computer.....for me its not just BYC...its facebook myspace yahoo TEG and Im sure several more.

Good luck to you! I hope you find some sort of motivation!!!!!

...and I was gonna say, with your health stuff and Ken's heart episodes...it's easy to see why you have a hard time focusing and like me, being on BYC or what have you is an easy way to take your mind off the things at hand....but eventually.... dang it dac, don't make me say it....

says in a fast paced painful way.... we all have to tend to biznass.......... AAAAh sigh, that was sooo hard, but I said it... as she ignores the pile of bills behind her that are screaming, pay me, pay meee, PAY MEEE! ha ha ha....

what? think i'm loosing hearing in that ear.

You should know by now that I have no problem with blunt at all. I have alredy taken responsibility for my me and my actions. I told my boss I knew he was right. I went on BYC at lunch for only a few minutes, answered a couple PM's and then got right off. I have steno books, and I started using them today - one for each committee meeting, and one for general office stuff. I also typed out a checklist of every thing that has to go to each meeting.

I found myself today at it again - I typed the minutes for the Board meeting, forgot to change it from Public Hearing to regular meeting!!!!! DUMB STUFF like that. I need a freaking checklist for what to review in the minutes!

And that is frustrating.

Ya know I think you may be right. I just cannot seem to focus!!!!! And I really had no problem staying off today. It wasn't like I had withdrawls or something.

I really hate to say this... but go see a doctor. It may be something as simple as a new prescription for glasses or your blood sugar may be dropping.

BYC is ruining MY eyesight. but in reality I am just getting old. Are you eating enough eggs? Choline is good for the brain, and chocolate, and red wine... wait, Maybe that's just what I want to believe. I make my own reality.

But really, if this is a big problem and it sounds like it is getting to be one, go get your blood sugar checked, and a physical while you are at it.
Good luck to you.
