Work from Home-ers... I need advice

I sold Party Lite products for awhile, it's was actually pretty good money, but when I had my 4 th child, it was too much so I stopped. I miss it cause I got some really nice smelling candles that my hubby actually liked. I need to find a job from home too, now that I'm down to just one kiddo at home every other day.

Contractor referral network. Essentially, you check out contractors (references, insurance, etc.) and advertise so that homeowners call you for contractors they know they can trust. Then, if you send them to one of "yours" and they get the job, you get a % (or for small jobs, a flat fee) from them that is essentially written off as "advertising expense".

I wish I could remember the name of the woman that sells training materials to learn how to start and run such a business. She's based in CT I think. The materials were certainly helpful and helped to sidestep some things that could've been majorly problematic.

I was gonna ask about the MyPet Chicken deal? I may or may not have a job when I go back to work...I work at Petco so I hear ya 2manyPets. I've gotten so many fishies from there. I've adopted some and bought others.
How's it working out for you?
At my job I have to lug up to 40 lb bags of food, igloos and dog crates...so I'll have to see...

I sell on eBay. It's been great for me for the last couple of years. I don't focus on it as much because I'm in school, but it still helps me pay for my kids school tuition and that was my goal from the get go.

The hard part is finding your product. Trade shows are a good place to start...go with your interest, it makes for much more enjoyable selling!

Good luck!

Prayers for a healthy pregnancy. Im 41 and have not been able to concieve. Have been forced out of the work place due to rare condition. I am soon to try to start a home based business. I suggest you survey your area and see if you can come up with a list of needs. Meaning do you hear people in the store - mall saying I wish we could for ex... find someone who makes natural soaps. Or quilts etc. Good luck!

I actually do sell on eBay... For the company I work for!

Now if I could only narrow down what I could sell and where I'd get it....

I'm going to be a Medical Transcriptionist. I am going to start training with Career Step online. I have done some research and Career Step is by far the best to train with. It sounds like they should pay me for advertising for them, huh?

I do in home daycare. I have my four children 2 oldest in school and then all of the little rugrats I watch for the moms who can't stay home. I would love to do something a little less hectic but as yet I haven't found it . Good luck!

My mom taught kindergarten for 45 years... yes, she even had kids in her class grow up and then drop their kids off to her class many years later and say, "Hey... you were my teacher!).

It worked great for her since she was home / on vacation when we (the kids) were.

I've also heard nursing is fantastic profession right now and will continue to be, and is flexible.

I've heard that there is a crying need for medical transcriptionists, like what that previous poster is doing. If you are good with words, spelling and typing, and have infinite patience for paperwork, that would be a lucrative thing to pursue.
