That there is funny!!! I'm the same way. I make digital scrapbooks and I'm going to do one of my chickens. I haven't even finished my kids baby books and they are 21-32 years old, hahaha but, my flowers and garden have a scrapbook, in fact two of them,

As long as we know your priorities are all straight, as they seem to be

Well, it looks like what my problem was with my recent hatches was my mercury thermometer....I had used it for the hatch where I got 7 out of 11 babies, but then put it in the brooder with them. After they moved out of the brooder I washed it and it slipped on the card where the temps were printed.

I got a digital thermometer to use alongside it for the next hatch, but I have read not to trust the digital ones and THOUGHT I had fixed the positioning of the mercury one, so I used the digital to read humidity and the mercury to read temps. DUMB MISTAKE. The digital always read about 2-3 degrees lower, and I blew it off.

To continue, I bought a nice set of analog thermo and hygrometer yesterday... the temps and humidty were right on with my digital. :O I have been ruining my own hatches with the temperature all this time. GAH. I increased the temp in the bator yesterday, hoping to save the ones who are still in there. Last ditch effort, and I still have at least 12 which were moving last night. Send me lots of positive hatchie energy, please!

Haven't been on in a while candled my eggs today 1 was a quiter so I am down to 3 eggs for world egg day. Everybody should do a new count for the eggs for world egg day so we will know how many chicks should hatch I have a question I am hatching eggs from my cochin silkie mix the father is either a silkie roo or a booted bantam One of my chicks was born without feather feet but all of my hens have feather feet but one but only my cochin/silkie mix is laying eggs the rest are still to young except 1 that stopped laying when I got her not sure why but is it possible for 2 chickens with feather feet to have a chick without?

I'll candle my eggs that are in the incubator tonight...they are due to lockdown tomorrow really early anyway, so I will just candle them one more time before that. Last count, I had 11 or 12 that were still moving, so I'm hoping I have that many going into lockdown.

The feather legged thing, I don't know...sorry I'm no help with that one

Yes, it's possible to have 2 feather-legged parents & get clean-legged chicks. It happens on occasion even in FBCM, Salmon Favs & even an occasional Silkie or Cochin. It doesn't mean your birds aren't pure, it just means at least 1 parent was carrying the gene for clean legs.

Also, I just happened to find this thread & remembered I have a couple batches of eggs that were set on 9/21. That means I'll have World Egg Day hatchlings too!!!
