Worming a duck with SafeGuard goat wormer

Regarding the 5 day Safeguard dose... some vets say to repeat in 10 days, but mine do not, so I don't repeat in ten days.

Mine are due again in mid July so want to be sure. Thanks!

Same. I take mine in to get it done, do you want me to write down the dosage she used and their weight when it was given? Might help to scale it up for larger birdies.

Quote: I wish more people would share what their vets prescribe. Would be best for them to include what worms are being treated the chemical name, the % of that chemical or the number of mg/ml and the actual dose in mg per kg. Way too many dosing mistakes happen when information like that is left out. Just ask all of the people that have lost birds to capillary worms and gapeworms because they thought they were giving the correct amount of wormer... Very sad, but true.

I can vouch for that I went on line to find out how to treat my bantam roo for gape worms and read about Ivermectin used it and he died. I thought I was using the right wormer. My vet won't see poultry actually neither vets in our town will

I freak out so much over that! Ducks love skeeters and slugs, basically the biggest carriers of parasites out there, LOL! I made the appointment for Monday, so hopefully I'll know then. :) Hope you're okay waiting another week, sorry about that
