Worms: Just a problem with feed store/hatchery chicks, or in all?

So I'm new to chickens, don't have any yet, and I wanted to ask about worms: Are they passed from mother hen through egg and then are in baby chicks from birth, or do they pick them up in the environment? I'm all grossed out thinking about tapeworm and roundworm in my chickens-If I order all my chicks as eggs and then hatch them in a new facility which is kept clean, can I prevent infestations entirely?

Yes you would have to raise them like battery hens, on wire floors permanently. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think that is any kind of life for a chicken, and that is why I raise my own hens. Chicken live to scratch!! Young chicks from hatcheries don't have worms as far as I know. If you are really freaked out about worms, start a regular worming schedule twice a year. It really isn't that big a deal, part of the cycle of life!, and part of raising "livestock".
