Worst. Shipping. Ever.

Don't give up on eggs with detatched air cells. I have hatched many chicks from eggs that have arrived like that. I usually set them and don't turn for 3 days to let them settle, they nearly always come right in about a week or so.

I have had eggs shipped to me quite a few times and it really is 50/50 as to whether those eggs get to you in one piece, I have eggs shipped perfectly and none hatch, eggs shipped not so good and hatched and a little bit in between! it's the luck of the draw on the sellers wrapping skills, temperature, age of eggs, health of parent birds and posties handling along the way, the worse must have been 12 quails eggs that arrived in a quail egg box with a piece of kitchen roll placed over them and then the box was placed in another box with shredded paper every single egg arrived damaged where they had not been secure in the box and had come out of the little sockets, some were cracked others completely smashed, yolk every where, initially the seller ignored me and then just sent a refund when I threatened with Paypal no sorry or nothing! there is always a risk you take with posting but I believe the seller needs to make an effort too, if you can clearly see their wrapping is not up to scratch then they should take responsibility, eggs should always be wrapped before being placed in boxes so they are held securely and not rolling around, it's common sense, strange thing was this seller had good feedback in shipping eggs so I didn't expect them to arrive as they did!

I would either ask for a refund-or a new set of eggs ( if you pay for shipping) packed ALOT better-explain to them how you want them packaged. If they say no to both-tell them your reporting them and are filing with paypal for a refund-that ought to get their butts in high gear to make this situation right! I'm sorry this happened:-(

Received a reply to my message to the seller today.
i am sorry about the eggs i will send you more eggs . thank you

Pithy, but I'll take it! Did not ask for additional money for shipping which is nice, considering.
I did candle the eggs this evening. I was shocked to see that they actually don't look too bad. Took one out that had a big floaty air bubble w/ smaller bubbles around it. The others look, stable, I guess is a good word. Too soon for veining, but the yolks are not floating around and they have that nice, deeper yellow/orange look to them. Not the clearer light yellow that seems to always mean "nothin' goin' on in here". So, I'm encouraged. Now I've got to figure out what to do with all of these eggs. I honestly did not expect any of the original set to develop.
