Would a rooster remember a certain person who was aggressive?

As the owner, it’s still your responsibility to contain the animal, especially a rooster. If you had a dog that wasn’t great with strangers, it would be fairest to the dog and the contractor to put the dog somewhere out of harms way. Same goes for any other animal of any species that may have an issue with a stranger. It’s not the animal’s fault but it’s also not really the stranger’s fault as they are there to do a job. I get where all of you guys are coming from with regards to the poor rooster but the situation could have been avoided in the first place if the birds were out of the way when the guy arrived. 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s respectful to the animals, respectful to the guy you hired, and less hassle in the long run. I don’t agree with the guy’s approach but ultimately it’s your responsibility to contain your animals and allow him to do his job.

I don't agree with this... he was harassing the bird, not being attacked by it! (I think. OP did not say for sure).

If the bird was in the space the guy was supposed to be working on, still the owners responsibility. Sorry, but that’s how it is when you hire someone to do a job. 🤷🏼‍♀️ He’s supposed to be in that space, which means you need to allow him to do the job he’s been hired to do. You have a problem with the interaction between the help and your bird, remove the bird so the interaction doesn’t happen. It’s simple.

I believe they said that is what they are going to do this time so it doesn't happen again. 🙂

people that dont know chickens just 'dont know' .. thats all it was im sure .. with most animals people assume if you put alittle force and intimidation into it then they will respect you more .. of course we know that doesnt work with chickens especially roosters, in fact your likely to get the whole flock out of balance for a long time trying to intimidate a rooster that way .. not good .. so yeah i dont blame the guy for trying to keep the rooster at bay he likely doesnt know, but the farmer with the chickens 'should' know .. the animals should have been removed from the work area if strangers were going to be in there, simple as that ..

I know  .
But, what I dont understand is, what dud the roo ever do to him?
He was doing the alarm bok-bok noise that roosters do, I just said just leave him be he's just warning the others there is a stranger. Roo didn't do anything but alarm and walk away, the man gave chase and cornered roo yelling at him to be quiet and threw a plastic bottle at him. no where for roo to go so had to jump at him to try to get away. Then the man finally listened to me and went out of the coop.
