Would an impacted or sour crop cause a swollen abdomen?

With other animals, it helps to prop them up on some towels to try to keep fluid out of the lungs but with the avian respiratory system I'm not 100% sure that would work.

The vet can drain some of the fluid for immediate relief.

I was right, she passed before we left for the vet's office. My husband buried her beside a peony bush when he got home from work.

I am very sorry. Its always hard when you lose a bird, especially after trying so hard to save it.
