Would someone please bring back a usable gas can?

Void where prohibited.
I've got like six plastic gas cans. None of the lids are interchangable. They all leak. Getting gas out of them is like trying to milk a bull. Some dam near need four hands to get them to work. I contacted the manufacturers, most of whom are in Canada, and they all say these are the specs they are required to build to per the USA.
They all say they are stupid as all get out, but can't change.
Why bother?
They're all mostly useless.
They don't pour right.
They don't breathe right, and I end up with gas everywhere, including my hands and all over my generators.
I hate stupidity.
I miss the old days, when things didn't have to be idiot proof.

ARRRRRRRRGH!

Hunting for gas cans brings back bad memories of Hurricane Sandy. I had to stake out a bunch of stores because the lines were terribly long for gas and at the time we only had two small cans which didn't last long in the generator. All the stores in the area kept hiking up the prices of those darn cans. $25, $40, even $50!! It was absolutely ridiculous!

I really wouldn't mind gas all over my hands and stuff, except gas doesn't even smell good. Is it just me, or did gas actually smell better 40 some odd years ago?
I remember loving the smell of gas when I was a kid.

The thing about these darn cans, is you really can't even really modify them much.

BBQ, I read your post outloud to DH. He's applauding and is in total agreement with you! He cusses out our cans every time he has to use them.

Every time I go and fill up our tractor I swear I'm going to go drive the hour or so to Canada to go get good gas cans. I've been saying that for about 2 years ever since my dad left the farm here and took his good cans with him. Just gotta be motivated enough to actually do it one of these days.

Don't bother. I live right by the border and they are always brining them down here to fill up on gas. Theirs are junk too. I'm sure they're all coming from China now.
